Now You Know: What’s the Difference Between the Titleist Pro V1, and Pro V1x?

Do you know the difference between the Pro V1 and the Pro V1x? It’s the number one ball in golf, and it’s also the number one, most confusing ball in golf. So what are the differences?

Let’s start with the Pro V1.

It’s going to fly lower, it’s going to spin less and it’s going to be a little bit softer.

Now let’s talk about the Pro V1X.

Going to fly a little bit higher, spin a little bit more and be a little bit firmer.

Which One is Right for You?

The best way to find that answer is to actually use Titleist’s fitting system, and they’ve got three different options for you. They’ve got an online version, a virtual version, and an in person ball fitting. All three are good, it just depends on which one fits better for you.

And by the way, in regards to price, it hasn’t changed, it’s still $54.99.

I find all my ProV1’s in the bushes close to the back tee’s where the wannabes are hitting.

What I want is soft feel, higher spin and launch, in other words a little of each. Who makes this ball, or does it exist?

Vice Pro Soft! I used to use them in colder weather and they’re excellent.

I always thought that the Pro V1 (or equivalent) was the correct ball for me. I was fit by Titleist last year at my home course. Of all their ball options the Pro V1X proved to be the best option. It provided the best trajectory and spin for me. Part of the reason is that I play at an altitude above 6000 ft. above sea level which flattens the trajectory of the golf ball. The worst was the AVX which provided way too flat of a trajectory. I only wish that there was a ball that fit between the softer feel of the Pro V1 and the higher trajectory of the Pro V1X. To that point, the quest continues and any ball I purchase now will provide a higher trajectory like the Pro V1X. The takeaway- get fit in the environment you play in, and don’t assume anything.

I am a low ball hitter, however I prefer a higher flight. I have played the ProV1X for years. When it comes to the cost? You learn to play within yourself and to not lose balls. I will say that Titleist has crossed my cost line.

Very good article, I don’t play either one. The ball is to expensive, the equipment is to expensive, and the cost to play is to expensive. So I cut costs. I walk the courses, take my senior discounts, and play a less expensive ball, this allows me to play the game I love.

If you are like me, the guys I play with regularly, you pick up a lot of balls along each round. Fishing them from the ponds, creeks and from under branches or leaves.

Prove. Have played it for years. Titleist ball fitter put me the correct ball many years ago and have stayed with it. Never waiver regardless of conditions. always play same ball for consistency.
