Rory McIlroy WITB 2026: Comparing His Back-To-Back Masters-Winning Bags

It’s always interesting to see what clubs a player uses to win a PGA Tour event.

At the Masters, it means a little more.

This year, we saw a historic occurrence: Rory McIlroy won two years in a row. That gives us a rare chance to compare one winning bag directly to the next. Here are a few details that stand out.

2025 versus 2026 Masters-winning bags

He changed irons this year—and went back

Earlier this season, Rory made a real change to his iron setup.

He put TaylorMade P7CB cavity-back irons into play, channging from the RORS Proto blades he’s used for years. It was a noticeable shift, especially for a player who hasn’t moved away from blades very often.

That change didn’t last long.

Before the Masters, he was already back to:

  • P760 (4-iron)
  • RORS Proto (5–9)

The same combination he used to win in 2025.

The driver change is the one that stuck

The move from Qi10 to Qi4D is the most obvious change. It has the same shaft but slightly lower loft than last year.

Rory spent most of 2025 with the Qi10. He did test the Qi35 and even put it in play at times but it never really stuck. He kept going back to the Qi10, including his win at Augusta.

The Qi4D has been the one that stuck.

It’s been an easy early-season switch and one that stayed in the bag heading into the Masters.

With another win at Augusta, a few of the trends we’ve been tracking continue to hold.

  • Spider Tour X keeps showing up: That’s now three of the last four Masters winners using a Spider Tour X (Scheffler 2024, McIlroy 2025, McIlroy 2026).
  • TaylorMade fairway woods remain almost unavoidable: Make it six of the last seven Masters winners with a TaylorMade fairway wood in the bag.
  • Driver brand stays concentrated at the top: With McIlroy’s win, five of the last seven Masters winners have used a TaylorMade driver.

Final thoughts

A new driver. A different 5-wood. Updated wedges. Everything else stayed the same, including the result on Sunday.

He may have changed to Qi4d from Qi10, but he actually drove the ball relatively poorly !
