Scottie Scheffler has done it again. For the second straight year, he walked away with the win at the Memorial Tournament. Add Muirfield Village to the growing list of courses where Scheffler doesn’t just compete, he dominates. We took a closer look at what’s changed in his bag since last year’s win. The adjustments are subtle but when you’re playing like Scottie Scheffler, would you change much?

What’s changed since 2024
The most noticeable update in Scheffler’s setup is the removal of the Srixon ZU85 (3) in favor of a TaylorMade Qi35 7-wood (21°).
That’s a big shift for a player who’s typically relied on a more traditional long-iron setup. When he won the 2024 Memorial Tournament, he had both a 3 and a 4 Srixon ZU85.
The 7-wood (by design) offers more height, spin and forgiveness. With many pros adding 7-woods in recent years, it’s not surprising to see even Scheffler following that trend.
He’s also updated his 60-degree wedge, moving from the Vokey SM8 to the SM10 WedgeWorks model. It’s a small change but the SM10 WedgeWorks line is one of the most trusted options on Tour. These wedges are known for precise spin and sole versatility.
Outside of the wedge and 7-wood, the only other differences were some tweaks in the driver and 3-wood loft. Scheffler chose not to upgrade to the Qi35 model in the driver or the 3-wood. He did increase the loft on his driver to 8.25 degrees, up from 8. The 3-wood has been adjusted to 14.75 degrees from 15.
These are fitting tweaks, not major changes, but they can fine-tune launch windows and spin rates, which may be especially important in a demanding setup like Muirfield Village.
Scheffler stays steady — because it’s working
While there are a few changes, the bigger story might be how little has changed.
His irons, putter and ball remain untouched. So does his overall approach. And, really, who could argue with that?
Scheffler continues to deliver week after week, with a bag that looks nearly identical to last season’s. After becoming the first player since Tiger Woods in 2000 to win back-to-back at the Memorial, the comparisons between Scheffler and Woods seem to grow louder by the week.
Different eras, different styles, but one thing’s the same: when you’re playing like this, there’s no need to chase equipment changes.
