We’re waking up to another Monday and another round of additions to the USGA’s conforming driver list.
Yeah, folks, we’ve definitely hit embargo pre-SZN. It’s not quite game time, but pitchers and catchers are reporting.
Anyway, this week’s tournament-legal entries include a trio of offerings from Honma and something new from Srixon.
Honma TW767, TW767 MAX, and TW767 LS

Perhaps a bit of a cart before the horse situation, Honma announced the new models last week. Of the three, two have crossed the 10K (MOI) barrier, while the third (the LS) is a more compact design that Honma says offers lower spin and more ball speed.
You can check out the full details on the new Honma lineup here.
Srixon ZXi LS Diamond

It’s too early to be certain where the ZXi LS Diamond fits in the upcoming Srixon lineup. Excluding left-handed listing, the addition of the LS Diamond brings the number of Srixon ZXi models on the USGA list to 9.
If you missed the first 8, those are (in no particular order) ZXi, ZXi LS (non-diamond), ZXi LS T244, ZXi SLS T242, SZi SLS T243, ZXi SLS T246, ZXi TR, ZXi MAX.
From all of that, I think we can safely assume that Srixon will offer at least 2, and likely three new models for the upcoming season. Srixon isn’t going to release 9 new drivers. With that, the probability is that many of the models were prototypes that were used to dial-in what will become the final retail models.
The nomenclature suggests the company is moving on from the ZX5/ZX7 naming conventions and likely consolidating under the ZXi umbrella.
If that is the case, it should simplify things quite a bit on the driver side.
Have Your Say
How are you feeling about the new Honma and Srixon offerings? Are you excited or will these be a hard pass?
