TaylorMade’s Season Opener collection heads to Houston for the Chevron

Denim, cowhide and a sheriff’s badge. The Chevron Championship just got its TaylorMade treatment.

Worth noting: for at least the second year running, TaylorMade has made a point of giving the women’s season opener the same treatment as the men’s. Same scope, same effort, same attention to local detail. More brands should take note.

The staff bag

TaylorMade Women's Season Opener 2026

The centerpiece is a denim-based staff bag wrapped in genuine cowhide accents with antique brass hardware throughout: zippers, clasps, rings and medallions, all warm-toned to complete the color story. Black and white round out the palette.

The details earn their spots. A sheriff’s badge on the valuables pocket nods to the law of the land. A cowhide skull on the back pays tribute to the livestock show that put Houston on the map. A rope wraps the base, a subtle salute to rodeo culture. The TaylorMade script is rendered in 3D raised chain stitch across both side panels.

The best touch is on the inside. The lining features a printed map of the 12 legendary Trail Ride routes—the paths riders take on horseback to Houston each year for the rodeo, some covering nearly 200 miles to get there. It’s the kind of hyper-local detail most bags wouldn’t bother with and exactly what separates a considered themed bag from a lazy one.

Is it a little over the top? Yeah, it is. But yee-haw, I’m going to allow it.

Headcovers

Every cover tells its own chapter of the story.

The driver goes full Western shirt silhouette with pearl snap details, a TaylorMade bolo tie and white floral embroidery. The fairway cover is bold cowhide. The hybrid is saddle blanket-inspired. The blade putter cover is a horse (and will absolutely be the most-Instagrammed item in the lineup). The mallet cover keeps things understated: sleek brown with classic TaylorMade script.

Somebody is going to rock the horse cover all the way to the first tee. More power to them.

Pricing and availability

The bottom line

Without Augusta’s trademark theatrics, TaylorMade has room to lean all the way into Houston and let the details speak for themselves. They do. If any of this catches your eye, don’t sleep on it.
