Testers Wanted – Dollar Driver Club

TheDollar Driver Club is the answer to a question you probably never thought to ask.

And, after that year, if you didn’t like it, you could just give it back and try a different one?

The idea behind Dollar Driver Club is simple. For about $30 a month—or an annual fee of $365—you get to try up to three brand-new drivers over the course of 12 months.

I like the idea here. I upgraded from a Titleist 983K to a Taylormade M5 Tour two years ago and am interested to see if there are big differences in heads even a few years later.

As a current member of the DDC I’m not sure if this is a good time to give it a fair review, with the supply issues the industry is experiencing you may be waiting a few weeks to do any swaps, I’m on week 8 of waiting for the tsi3 to swap the tsi2 I got first.

First off, Chris’ head is getting more glossy by the minute. I would love to take part in your driver program. I am a 12 hcp 54 year old with some flaws in my swing that John Henry could not hammer out. The only real problem is that I live and play golf at the IMG course in Baku, Azerbaijan. I do not think that I would qualify for the program due to my location. If not, no problem, MGS is still the go to spot for all golf related information. Love you guys, and lady.

I would love to be part of the test. I am an ex club pro and college coach in my 50s with a simulator in my basement. I am in a small group of golfers that shoots high 60s to mid 70s but has a 135mph ball speed. Of course I have to play the senior tees. I don’t see much talk about guys hitting 230 yard drives with low handicaps and I know there are a bunch of us out there.

It’d be awesome to considered. I usually buy, try and sell my drivers off eBay just to try them out. I do horribly on launch monitors.

I’ve used them twice once in there first year and then just this year and like it and would highly recommend it the shaft options are the only limitation if they could expand that it would be a even better

A couple of questions;
If you decide to keep the driver is the monthly fee deducted from the cost of the driver?

I usually buy my clubs from Roger Dunn. They have a policy that you can test any club including irons and even golf practice items for 90 days. If you don’t like them you can return them for the price you paid. The only drawback is it is for store credit.

Yes, you can buy it from the difference of what you paid that year, and the retail of the club. I have a friend who just got the sim 2 mailed to him last night, and he told me the policy.

This is already being done with bikes and baseball bats so it makes sense to do this with golf clubs. I’m available here in SoCal.

I am already a member of Dollar Driver Club. So far it has been a very good experience. I have tried the Callaway Epic, and have just ordered the TaylorMade Sim2 Max.. Awaiting it’s arrival.
You should also know that you can try out different shafts after you have received the driver.

Wow if you have been fit to a shaft and use the Club Conex system or Uni-fit system with it you could really find your own best combo.

I had been apart of the dollar driver club it’s first year. Everything was good I got my taylormade driver from them and made payments every month. One thing I had to do was inquire about how much I still owed because they just kept on taking payments out. Turned out I had over paid never saw 1 cent back and they changed the way it was do e as well by now having to finance your clubs. It just went down hill very fast and it’s a shame I liked how it started but now I wouldn’t do buisness with them again.

I go golfing 5-6 times a week in Michigan, 4 index. Currently use a speedzone driver. I use TrackMan for gathering ball speed, launch angle, club path, spin rate. Call me too at 734-560-6712. I can provide detail feedback of each club tested

Dollar (per day) Driver rental sounds intriguing but I am not sure how this will help more than a proper driver fitting. I would think that once you are properly fitted with a driver that you feel comfortable with, the tee box then becomes all about having the confidence to execute the shot. Again, trying a driver (or three) for a year sounds inviting; I’m just not sure.

What happens if I find THE driver during testing? Do I get to keep it? How much do I pay for the now used driver or do I return it and go buy it retail? It sounds good but needs a few more details.

If you find your ideal driver during testing, you simply pay the difference between the retail price and what you’ve already paid towards the subscription. That way, you don’t end up ever paying more than the standard retail price.
