You know what doesn’t get enough respect?
The adidas CODECHAOS 22.
Lost in the hustle and bustle and the allure of new shiny golf shoes, the four-year-old performance beast is still just as good as most of the spikless offerings on the market.
And the best part? You can pick it up for about $100 (or less).
Here’s what I like so damn much about this pair.
The good
- One of the comfiest midsoles on the market (full-length BOOST)
- Stellar spikeless traction that works in wet and dry conditions
- Good wide base with outriggers that add stability
- Can often be found at steep discounts
The not-so-good
- TPU upper is plasticky and not as comfy as leather
- Very few color options are available at this point
- Can’t really find in store to try on
A pair worth picking up
The adidas CODECHAOS 22 is, without a doubt, one of the most slept on golf shoes that is still somewhat available at retail. If you haven’t tried a pair, do it.
And if you already have a pair, snag another before these guys are totally out of production.

Just a cautionary tale if you are thinking of buying. Bought a pair of 22’s at the start of the year in the sales. Didn’t wear them until April and by the end of May a hole appeared in the heel lining of both shoes. I patched them up but by September the soles had split open under the forefoot and had started leaking. Disappointed in the longevity as had not worn them much, but I must say they were very comfortable – but this means nothing if they only last a few months. Luckily got a full refund from adidas but has put me off adidas shoes at the moment.
