Titleist Opens Shop At Pinehurst: Premium Fitting Experience In Golf’s Cradle

In July, we told you about Titleist’s plans to open its first U.S. retail destination at Pinehurst. Today, the doors are officially open and the location couldn’t be more fitting. The Titleist Shop at Pinehurst sits just steps from the iconic 18th green of Pinehurst No. 2, surrounded by some of the most celebrated golf real estate in America.

Located at the former Don Padgett Learning Center on Pinehurst’s main campus, the shop is set in the heart of what many consider the cradle of American golf. You’re within walking distance of the main clubhouse, The Cradle short course, Thistle Dhu putting course and Maniac Hill—Pinehurst’s historic driving range that was one of the game’s first practice facilities.

More than just a pro shop

What sets this apart from your typical resort pro shop is the comprehensive fitting experience. More specifically, a comprehensive Titleist fitting experience. The shop features golf ball and golf club fitting capabilities, leveraging Titleist’s full product lineup along with its proprietary fitting tools like the Golf Ball Fitting App and Vokey Wedge Fitting App.

The indoor Trackman-powered fitting bay ensures year-round fitting capability regardless of weather conditions while Pinehurst’s state-of-the-art practice facilities provide the outdoor testing ground for dialing in your equipment.

But the centerpiece might be what Titleist calls “the most advanced on-demand golf ball customizer” available. Golfers can add custom logos or personalized text to their golf ball of choice, which gets printed on-site in real time. The logo library includes 11 unique Pinehurst designs, complete with custom Titleist and Pinehurst co-branded packaging. There’s even a new AIM (Alignment Integrated Marking) design available on select models, inspired by Pinehurst’s iconic Putter Boy.

Putter Boy or not, can I just get a wider alignment stripe?

The full Titleist experience

The shop stocks Titleist’s complete family of golf ball and golf club offerings, including Pro V1, Pro V1x, and Pro V1x Left Dash models with every play number from 00-99. You’ll also find a full complement of Titleist golf clubs (and shafts) for comprehensive fitting sessions.

Shop-exclusive offerings include a Pinehurst-inspired Scotty Cameron headcover (available with putter purchase) and a range of Pinehurst-branded Titleist gear, including hats, golf bags, valuables pouches and yardage book covers.

The shop also provides in-shop club repair services for on-site re-gripping, loft and lie checks, and other club tune-ups.

Why Pinehurst makes sense

The partnership feels natural, given Pinehurst’s golf heritage. The resort has hosted more championships than any other site in North America, including U.S. Opens, U.S. Women’s Opens, PGA Championships, the Ryder Cup and Tour Championships. The courses feature designs from golf’s most celebrated architects including Donald Ross, Tom Doak and Rees Jones.

“Pinehurst represents everything that golfers love about this game,” said Jeremy Stone, Titleist’s Senior Vice President of Golf Ball Marketing and U.S. Sales. “This is such a meaningful setting, shaped by historic championships and generations of golfers creating memorable experiences.”

Pinehurst Resort’s Eric Kuester sees the partnership as enhancing what the resort already offers. “Pinehurst has always been where golfers connect with the soul of the game and our partnership with Titleist takes that connection to a new level.”

The fitting advantage

Getting fitted at Pinehurst means working with Titleist’s complete arsenal of fitting tools in an environment that’s entirely focused on golf performance.

This isn’t exactly making fitting more accessible to the masses but if you’re already planning a trip to Pinehurst, having a comprehensive Titleist fitting experience available on-site is a compelling option. The location serves golfers who are serious about their equipment and understand the value of properly fitted clubs and balls.

Looking forward

Titleist and Pinehurst have created something unique in the golf retail space. This isn’t just about selling equipment (although that’s certainly part of it). It’s about creating a comprehensive fitting and customization experience in one of golf’s most meaningful locations.

The shop represents Titleist’s commitment to fitting as much as product development. Having a destination that combines their most advanced fitting capabilities with immediate customization options suggests the company sees fitting as central to the golfer experience, not just an add-on service.

For golfers visiting Pinehurst, the shop adds another dimension to what’s already a pilgrimage site for serious players. You can now leave not just with memories of playing legendary courses, but with equipment that’s been properly fitted and personalized in the process.

Makes good sense. Titleist fitting centers popping up at a number of top rated courses. Titleist has done fittings and events at Pinehurst for years with success. :Pinehurst made the right choice. Kudos.

Looks like a nice experience…if you are in the market for Titleist clubs.

We have two local shops that, while not having Pinehurst level glam, do offer a concierge style club fitting in a luxury environment, and offer several brands.

This cannot be the “complete fitting experience” when you’re offering one brand. So basically, this is like a pxg store, right?

I’ve never been a fan of Titleist clubs so this probably won’t be a destination for me at any point in time

Not sure why Pinehurst would limit the offering to only Titleist? Make no sense!
