Top 25 Straightest Drivers of 2024

How many of your drives do you hit straight? Hitting the ball straight is often just as important as distance—if not more so for some players. The real winners, however, are the drivers that can deliver both distance and accuracy. In our 2024 golf driver testing, we focused heavily on both distance and accuracy in our testing.

For accuracy, we evaluated two specific metrics: straight shot percentage and playable shot percentage. To determine the straightest drivers of 2024, we focused on straight shot percentage. Straight shot percentage is an advanced way of looking at fairway percentage.

Straight shot percentage considers how far a shot is hit by widening the target area for longer drives. This adjustment ensures that big hitters aren’t unfairly penalized compared to shorter hitters, allowing for a proper comparison across all swing speeds and distances.

Impact of an 18% difference

In our 2024 testing, we analyzed 37 drivers and the difference in straight shot percentage between the best-performing and worst drivers was 18 percent. What does this mean for your game?

Theoretically, if you used your driver on 14 of 18 holes during a round (excluding par-3s), an 18-percent improvement in straight shot percentage could result in hitting two to three more fairways per round. You’ll also have the advantage of approaching the greens from areas you choose on all 14 holes where you use the straighter driver.

Those additional fairways can lead to shorter approach shots, better angles to the pin and fewer penalty strokes. When choosing your next driver, consider its straight shot percentage. This could be the key to improving your tee shots and ultimately lowering your scores.

The Tour Edge E723 is on my Christmas list (I should have just bought it for $250 on Black Friday). Nice to see TE and Wilson challenging the bigger brands.

Anybody know why Tour Edge continues to come out with new models, but never makes a 6-hybrid? You would think they would with their Senior Tour presence. I am glad their products are getting some recognition for the little guys though.

This is based on their testing from back in March 2024, the GT3 wasn’t out back then.

Wilson Dynapower Carbon (a 2 year old driver) still performing above nearly all others out there. And now on clearance for $299 or less since its about to be updated, its half the price of the G430 Max 10k. The irons were a mess but the hybrids, fairways, and Carbon driver should get more praise from you all. Among the best performances and less expensive than most.

The forged Dynapwr irons are legit. Great players distance with plenty of workability. The game improvement versions were just okay at best.
