YouTube Golf Power Rankings: Mid-May Update

We’ve been tracking the YouTube Golf Power Rankings over the past few months and the leaderboard is very tight throughout the top players.

Here are the top 10 players ranked by Handicap Tracker. The site goes through every YouTube golf video and calculates the on-camera handicap for each player.

  1. Bryson DeChambeau (+9.9)
  2. Jason Day (+8.7)
  3. Brad Dalke (+7.0)
  4. George Bryan (+6.8)
  5. Ryan Ruffels (+6.8)
  6. Pavan Sagoo (+6.8)
  7. Nick Voke (+6.6)
  8. James Nicholas (+6.6)
  9. Wesley Bryan (+6.2)
  10. Jean-Phillippe Mehu (+6.1)

Now let’s get into the biggest movers up the handicap leaderboard during the past two weeks.

Danny Elder

Leading the charge this period, Danny delivered one of the strongest performances on the board at his home track, the legendary Carnoustie Golf Links Championship Course. Playing from the tips at a former Open Championship venue is tough enough, but firing a 2 under round for an adjusted score of 4.2 under is elite-level golf.

It also comes at the perfect time, with Danny sitting in one of the most congested sections of the leaderboard, where handicaps between +1 and +3 are tightly packed. In that range, even small movements can cause massive jumps up the standings.

Slumpy

Golf Slump continued his steady climb with back-to-back under-par nines in Australia. First came a 2 under stretch at Gardiners Run Golf Course, followed by another strong showing at Lang Lang Golf Club, often described as a country-style Augusta. A 1 under effort there keeps the momentum rolling and shows his game is trending in a very consistent direction.

Luke Kwon

The standout round of the period belongs to Luke. Continuing the “Surviving Sunday” series with the New Zealand crew, the challenge this time was to match the leading PGA Championship score from Saturday and attempt to “win” the tournament over a single round.

Tooms pushed him all the way with an impressive 4 under performance, but Kwon simply hit another level. A sensational 6 under round at TPC Harding Park secured the victory and further cemented his place among the very best golfing creators on the platform.

Ryan Ruffels

Ryan Ruffels is rapidly becoming the hottest name in YouTube golf. Fresh off beating seven other creators to qualify for the OneFlight Myrtle Beach Classic, the internet has fully rallied behind him, and he’s already backed it up by making the weekend cut.

On top of that, another dominant performance against Sam Heung-min saw Ryan comfortably close out a 6 & 5 victory, adding yet another boost to his rapidly climbing handicap position.

Fat Perez & Bobby Fairways

The Bob Does Sports duo returned for another of their Stroke Play Major series at Streamsong Resort Blue Course. Fat Perez delivered the low round with a clean 1 under performance, but it was Bobby who walked away with the title. Starting the challenge at 14 under in the cumulative format, Bob battled his way to a 9 over finish and added yet another Bob Does Sports trophy to the cabinet.

Mazelyn

Mazelyn continued her popular “Walk On Wager” series with a high-stakes match at Erinvale Golf Club, putting her entire YouTube paycheck on the line in a 1v1 showdown. For a 5.4 handicap player, opening at 2 over through 9 under that kind of pressure is seriously impressive. Winning the match and backing it up with solid scoring pushed her sharply up the leaderboard and added another memorable chapter to the series.

Biggest handicap impact (single video)

The biggest handicap cut out of one video was… Bobby Fairways! He took 0.9 off his handicap during the Bob Does Sports Stroke Play Major.

You tube golf has reminded me of a few things. Bob and the Boys are far and above the rest. The other channels are just golf nerds, making golf jokes, and simply nerding out. They are the reason I didn’t play HS golf. I was good, even was grouped with the coach randomly on a Saturday at a course in a different city and beat him. He begged me to join the team, I told him that outside of golf, I have nothing in common with those kids. He understood. Country Club kids are from a different planet. They’re weird
