Amazon Finds: Acrylic Paint Pens

I’ve ventured into the world of club building. While I’ve always managed my own grips, I wanted to broaden my skills and knowledge in other areas. This led me to a fun project: adding a creative touch to some older clubs in my backup bag.

Golf clubs are often plain and standard, lacking the personality we infuse into other aspects of our game. This article explores a simple solution to bring a personal touch to your golf clubs.

The Problem

Golf clubs, aside from head covers and grips, often lack individuality. What if we could add some personality to our golf gear, just as we do with clothing, footwear, bags, and other accessories?

The Solution

Acrylic Paint Pens offer golfers an easy way to infuse personality, customization and color into their clubs without the mess or the need for extensive DIY experience.

Discovering Acrylic Paint Pens

During my search for budget-friendly golf club-building equipment on Amazon, I stumbled upon Acrylic Paint Pens. These pens appeared as a recommended product, and with a 4.5/5-star rating from more than 5,300 reviews, along with the “Amazon Top Choice” label, I decided to order three of the available 12 colors. While I ordered individual colors for $2 a piece, the full set of 12 can be purchased for as low as $17.99.

Testing the Pens

Before applying these pens to my desired clubs, I decided to test them on a few extra clubs I had lying around. The colors I ordered—Orange, Red and Blue—proved easy to use. Shake, uncap and let the paint flow.

These pens offer waterproof and permanent paint, making them ideal for golf clubs and the wear and tear they go through in a given season. Their smaller tips are perfect for adding color to identification numbers, grooves and other intricate areas.

Customizing My Clubs

I started by working on my older PING Glide 2.0 wedges. The black 54-degree wedge received a touch of orange on the identification number, badge and the bottom two grooves. When new, it had a white bottom groove which has long since disappeared with cleaning and use.

The paint pen’s ease of use and the ability to correct any mistakes with a paper towel left me pleasantly surprised. Next, I applied blue to my 58-degree wedge, achieving a slightly subtler effect on the black surface.

However, when I attempted to add orange paint to the alignment aids on my COBRA putter, I encountered some challenges. The orange paint on white paint felt slippery and didn’t produce the same polished look. In the future, I would use a paint stripper to remove the existing paint before applying the Acrylic Paint Pen

I was pleased with the paint’s durability. I have played six rounds and practiced with these wedges in various conditions, cleaning them after every use and the paint fill has held up perfectly.

The Final Verdict

This project was both enjoyable and informative. I plan to get to work on some raw irons I have lying around, experimenting with different areas and colors with the Acrylic Paint Pens.

While I don’t know if I will do much with my main set of irons or putter, I will definitely be adding a touch of color to my wedges in my main set.

If you’re a DIY golfer seeking a straightforward and effective way to add color and personalization to your clubs, Acrylic Paint Pens are an excellent starting point. With 12 different color options, plenty of great reviews and being an Amazon Top Choice, the Acrylic Paint Pen have exceptional value for the price.

I love tinkering around with painting clubs, my Evnroll Outback has about 6 different colours across the top, sides and bottom of the thing. Did that the old fashioned way with infill paint from ebay, these pens look great so will definitely be giving them a bash!

Are these already gone from Amazon? Or is the link just to a generic search and not a specific pen?

The Zeyar Pens are the same as ones reviewed. Unfortunately it looks as though individual options are sold out and only the packs are available. You can also go to Temu and find individual pens there.

I would give money to charity before I would spend money on this.

Wonder how these would hold up with putting lines/markings on a golf ball?

So we have had a few members on the forum and staff say others have used these on various things even mugs which has lasted well. My concern with a golf ball would be as it is paint it could upset the balance of the golf ball… may be worth testing though!
