Head To Head: Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Vs. TaylorMade Qi35 LS

When it comes to low-spin, high-performance drivers, the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond and the TaylorMade Qi35 LS are two of the most talked-about models in 2025. One is the MyGolfSpy test winner. The other didn’t have the same success. We put these models in our driver head-to-head comparison tool to see what really sets them apart.

Distance

  • Elyte Triple Diamond Distance Score: 9.6
  • Qi35 LS Distance Score: 8.5

When it comes to total yards off the tee, the Elyte Triple Diamond comes out on top. It averaged 237.0 yards of carry and 251.76 total yards in testing. When you look a little deeper, you’ll see it’s only about two full yards longer than the Qi35 LS. Yes, the distance score is bette,r but it’s not like the Qi35 LS is short.

Both drivers posted similar ball speeds (142.3 mph for Callaway versus 142.42 mph for TaylorMade). The difference came down to launch and spin. Callaway’s optimized launch angle, paired with lower spin, helped it squeeze out a few extra yards.

Forgiveness

  • Elyte Triple Diamond Forgiveness Score: 8.7
  • Qi35 LS Forgiveness Score: 7.8

Forgiveness isn’t just about mishits. It’s about how consistently a driver performs across dozens of swings. The Elyte Triple Diamond and Qi35 LS are not the most forgiving drivers of 2025.

However, the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond still beat out the Qi35 LS.

It produced lower ball speed deltas and a tighter shot dispersion. The Qi35 LS was slightly more erratic in speed and dispersion.

For a low-spin “player’s” driver, the Elyte Triple Diamond is forgiving. It won’t feel like a game-improvement club, but you won’t be punished nearly as often as you might expect for a lower-spinning driver.

Accuracy

  • Elyte Triple Diamond Accuracy Score: 9.6
  • Qi35 LS Accuracy Score: 9.1

TaylorMade’s Qi35 LS posted a slightly better offline average at -0.2 yards compared to Callaway’s 2.58 yards. But offline data doesn’t tell the full story.

Elyte Triple Diamond placed among the top three in playable shot percentage and straight shot percentage, key metrics that reflect whether shots are usable.

Accuracy, in MyGolfSpy testing, isn’t just about hitting the fairway; it’s about keeping the ball in play.

Swing speed performance

Another factor to consider when comparing the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond and the TaylorMade Qi35 is how they perform at different swing speeds. Here’s a look at what you can expect at each speed. One of the most surprising things you’ll find is how well the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond performs for low swing speed players.

Value

The Elyte Triple Diamond and the Qi35 LS aren’t budget-friendly drivers. They are priced the same and, really, the value is going to come down to which one makes more sense for your game.

The Callaway is a little more accurate and forgiving but it’s likely worth testing both to see which one suits you best.

Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond the best driver of 2025

Final verdict

If you’re buying based on performance, the data shows the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond wins this head-to-head. It leads in distance, edges out in forgiveness and wins on overall accuracy when accounting for real-world playability.

Dissenting opinion here. I love the QI 35 LS. Get this :my swing speed is 94-102 mph. High handicapper 25. I already own the PING 440 SFT.Average carry 200-210 yds.Tried the Elyte driver, bought it no distance gain, less forgiving.Tried the Qi 35 LS with stiff shaft and suddenly hitting 230-245 yds.It got better. Did some more research and bought the aftermarket weights. Switched out the 13 gram weight for 15 grams and changed the 3 gram weights to 5 grams, also got a astiffer Newton shaft .Results:Range balls wer flying 265 + yards .Consistently. Agree not as forgiving ,but I have had ProV1 balls go 300+ yards. My jaw was on the ground next to my tee the first time it happened. Did not believe my mevo plus or the driving range yardage markers.Came back to the range after sunset(empty driving range),played 3 premium balls, and walked the distance to verify.still sliced a couple but balls went far.I confirmed a total distance of 321yards! Absolute love the Qi35LS.Bought two .

For 95% of us golfers out here, spending $650 for a driver is not even a consideration… Give me a break…

Agree 1000 percent! And don’t forget to get fitted. No thanks from a 10 handicapper.

How is the “Overall” number calculated because it’s not an average of the other numbers

I’m interested in knowing what shaft brand and weight was used for testing? Do uou believe upgrading shaft would make a difference?

I’m happy with my standard Elyte, but can’t help being intrigued by hearing time after time, on this site and others, how well the TD performs for players without the high swing speeds. That driver may be one of those rare drivers that everybody will be looking for 5 years from now. If the regular Elyte wasn’t working for me, I’d try the TD in a heartbeat.

Low swing speeds need more spin…

As a blanket statement, that’s false. What we see in testing is that plenty of slower golfers need the speed generated from more forward CG designs….but not at the cost of spin deficiency. In fact, lofting up a low-spin head can be a killer combo for this group.

I would be good to know the swing speed you used for “low”, “mid”, and “high”.

      Thanks

Yeah they really should include that every time these categories are mentioned in these articles. They do have it in the 3 individual most wanted driver articles for high/mid/low swing speeds. Here you go.

High – swing speed 105mph or greater
      Mid – swing speed 90 to 105mph
Low – swing speed 90mph or lower

You can find those 3 articles near the top here – https://mygolfspy.com/buyers-guides/drivers/
