Which PXG Golf Ball Should You Play?

We tested both the PXG Xtreme Tour and Xtreme Tour X and while they share a lot in common, the performance differences are subtle but meaningful.

The real separation between the two PXG balls shows up in the iron data. The Xtreme Tour consistently launched higher and landed steeper. If you’re playing a course with firm greens, that’s going to be a true benefit. The Tour X flew flatter and spun slightly more, offering a bit more total distance but less stopping power.

For most golfers, it’s a question of trajectory preference:

• Tour = higher flight, more carry, softer landings
• Tour X = lower, more penetrating flight with a firmer feel

Around the green: Both reliable, neither extreme

Greenside testing showed both PXG balls produce average spin for the category. The Tour X offered a touch more grab on shorter shots while the Tour spun slightly more on full wedges.

Which PXG ball should you play?

• Play PXG Xtreme Tour X if you prefer a firmer feel, want slightly more rollout off the tee and value a consistent, penetrating flight. It’s a smart fit for players with mid or higher swing speeds who like to see the ball run.
