We just completed our 2025 Most Wanted Zero-Torque Putter Test at MyGolfSpy, putting 17 of the most putters to the test using PuttView analytics. L.A.B. Golf remains the leader in zero-torque technology. Of the 17 models tested, three came from L.A.B.. Two performed near the top and one struggled a bit in the rankings. If you’re trying to decide which L.A.B. putter to try, this is the place to start.
L.A.B. Golf OZ.1i – Best Overall
The OZ.1i dominated the test. It had the best overall score and ranked first on short putts and in the top three on long putts. Beyond data, it also won over testers with the best subjective ratings of any zero-torque model. Testers loved the sound, feel and look, and considered themselves more likely to purchase it than any other putter in the test.
The forward press grip was another positive and testers commented on how easy the putter was to roll with true distance control.
✅ Buy this If:
- You want top-tier performance backed by data.
- You care about aesthetics and subjective feel in a putter.
❌ Don’t buy this If:
- You’re not ready to spend close to $500 on a putter.
- You don’t plan to go through a proper L.A.B. fitting (which is strongly recommended).
L.A.B. Golf OZ.1 – Solid performer
The OZ.1 is a slightly more affordable sibling to the OZ.1i, yet it still posted excellent numbers across all distances and earned a top-10 finish. While it didn’t lead in any single category, it offered consistent performance, especially among players who preferred a softer, more muted feel at impact.
Compared to the OZ.1i, this model lacks the stainless steel insert, resulting in a softer, more dampened feel at impact. If you prefer a firmer, crisper response off the face, the OZ.1i may be a better fit.
✅ Buy this if:
- You want strong, balanced performance at a slightly lower price.
- You prefer a softer feel off the face compared to the OZ.1i.
❌ Don’t buy this if:
- You prefer a firmer feel or sharper feedback at impact.
L.A.B. Golf DF3 – Lowest ranked of the three
The DF3 underperformed in our zero-torque putter test, landing in the bottom tier of the 17 putters evaluated. Its biggest weakness was medium-length putts where it posted one of the worst scores of the entire test.
While the DF3 design is recognizable and has a devoted following, the data just didn’t support its performance in this year’s testing. The DF3’s oversized shape and extreme alignment aids still offer appeal for golfers who struggle with setup consistency or need a confidence boost over the ball.
✅ Buy this if:
- You’ve had success with the DF shape before and value extreme alignment help.
❌ Don’t buy this if:
- You need help on medium-range putts. This is where DF3 struggles most.
- You want the best L.A.B. has to offer, according to test results.
