Top Three Longest Drivers Under $300

Need more distance from your driver but don’t want to spend $500-plus? You came to the right place. We cross-referenced some recent price drops with a few of our top golf drivers from years past to find you three of the best golf drivers for less than $300. Two of these drivers were top choices in our 2023 best golf driver testing and one is from 2022. The longest clubs in 2024 haven’t dropped below this $300 price mark just yet.

COBRA AEROJET LS

Who Is It For?

✅ Someone looking for more distance. The best driver of the 2023 golf driver test.

The golfer who needs low spin. One of the lowest-spinning drivers on the market, great for a few extra yards of roll.

Who Is It Not For?

Players who don’t generate much spin: If you can’t generate much spin, you’ll struggle with this one.

Anyone who needs extra forgiveness: Rated below average for forgiveness.

Why Buy

In our 2023 testing, the COBRA AEROJET LS had an average driver distance of 259.27 yards. This was more than 15 yards longer than the shortest driver and three yards longer than the second place driver.
Most importantly, it got second place overall in the 2023 testing and now is less than $300.No other golf drivers at the top of that list have dropped into this price range just yet.

The COBRA AEROJET LS driver has an AI-designed H.O.T. Face for increased speed. The face is more flexible than previous COBRA models which helps add a few yards.

One issue testers had with this club was forgiveness. It’s very low-spinning and more of a fade-biased model. You’ll be fine with this affordable driver if accuracy and distance are your main concerns. You may want to try something else if you still struggle to square the clubface at impact.

COBRA AEROJET

Who Is It For?

Anyone who wants value and distance. The COBRA AEROJET just missed the top five for distance in the 2023 test.

Players who benefit from lower spin and higher ball speed. All-around good ratings for feel, sound, low spin and high ball speed.

Who Is It Not For?

Golfers who need the most forgiveness: Just like the AEROJET LS, the AEROJET is not the most forgiving. This one also is not as accurate.

Players trying to keep spin down: The AEROJET is a lower-spinning driver but not as low-spinning as the AEROJET LS.

Why Buy

The COBRA AEROJET was another top finisher in our 2023 testing. This one averaged 254.26 total yardage. Although it’s a few yards shorter than the LS version, we expected that because the standard model isn’t quite as low-spinning.

The COBRA AEROJET features an adjustable head, forged PWRSHELL face insert and H.O.T. Face design.

Testers liked its sleek appearance and pleasing sound. It placed third overall for distance in 2023 and is now priced below $300. For golfers who don’t generate much spin but want a long (and affordable) driver, this one could be a good alternative to any LS model.

COBRA KING LTD X LS

Who Is It For?

Higher swing speeds looking for more distance. Ranked the best for distance for higher swing speeds in 2022.

Anyone on a budget. The COBRA LTD X LS has now dropped below $200.

Who Is It Not For?

Anyone who wants the latest release: Part of our 2022 best golf driver testing so not the newest option out there.

Players wanting custom builds: While it’s not hard to find, testing this head at a custom fitting will be tough.

Why Buy

Last, but not least, is the COBRA KING LTD X LS. Yes, all three longest golf drivers under $300 are COBRA. The COBRA KING LTD X LS was a top finisher in our 2022 test. It had an average total distance of 254.26 yards.

Most importantly for golfers on a budget, the COBRA KING LTD X LS is now priced around $250. If you are on a budget and not too picky about custom shaft options, you should be able to find a COBRA LTD X LS that works for you.

Golfers in our 2022 best driver test liked the way the LTD X LS looked and found the head was not overly large. Descent angle for the COBRA KING LTD X LS is on the lower side. It is without a doubt a lower-spinning driver. Golfers who need distance and don’t have trouble generating spin will do best with the COBRA KING LTD X LS.

I’m a big fan of the AEROJET LS. Made the mistake of testing one at a Demo Day at my course last summer. It blew my TM M5 out of the water, so I then had to acquire one and so glad I did.
I will say that I did notice a difference in forgiveness, but I think it was more about the TM twist face than anything else. But because of that, playing the AEROJET LS has made me a better driver because I can’t just wail away I have to put a good swing on it.
I’m not a real high speed swinger, around 100mph, and it works great for me so I’d say give it a try if you’re interested. You can’t beat this driver for $299 Period.

I feel the same way about the LTDx LS. New for $199 is probably the best value driver you can get currently. I agree it’s not the most forgiving but it’s a great club if you struggle with a high trajectory, high spin ball flight. I also like the fade bias. I’m also an average swing speed player, around 100-105 mph but I have no complaints and will be keeping this in the bag for the next few years at a minimum.
