Best Callaway Golf Clubs Of 2025

Every year, golf manufacturers launch dozens of new clubs, each promising more distance, more forgiveness or better feel. But after the dust settles, only a few actually prove it in testing. Using data from MyGolfSpy’s 2025 Most Wanted testing, we took a look back at which Callaway golf clubs truly delivered.

A profile view of the Callaway elyte mini driver

Long game (Driver, fairway, hybrid, utility)

The long game was Callaway’s biggest success story of 2025. The Elyte Triple Diamond driver earned top overall honors and the Elyte X wasn’t far behind. The Callaway Elyte mini driver also earned a second-place finish while the Elyte X hybrid ranked among the most accurate and longest in testing.

Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond: Best Overall Driver of 2025. Combination of distance and accuracy across swing speeds.

Callaway Elyte X: Balanced mix of distance and forgiveness; finished just outside the top-five in the 2025 driver test.

Callaway Elyte Mini Driver: Runner-up in the 2025 Mini Driver Test. Produced excellent distance with added control off the tee, making it a strong option for golfers who prefer a smaller, more workable profile.

Callaway Elyte (Fairway Wood): Strong distance from the tee in 2025 testing; slightly less consistent from turf lies.

Callaway Elyte X Hybrid: Third overall, second in both accuracy and distance. Easy launch with real ball speed. Forgiveness scores trailed the very best, so fitting matters.

Irons (Player’s to super game-improvement)

The iron story is solid across the middle of the lineup. Apex Ai200 was a headliner in Player’s Distance (strong distance and accuracy), Elyte HL topped accuracy in Game-Improvement and Elyte (standard) still finished near the top overall. Elyte X proved the longest in Super GI, trading some accuracy/forgiveness for speed.

Callaway Apex Ai200: One of the top performers in the Player’s Distance category, excelling in both distance and accuracy. Can launch slightly higher than some better-player irons.

Callaway Elyte HL: Best overall game-improvement iron of 2025 with top scores for both accuracy and forgiveness. Higher spin can cost a few yards for fast swingers.

Callaway Elyte (Standard): Third overall with excellent accuracy and distance off the rack. Not as forgiving as Elyte HL.

Callaway Elyte X: Longest super game-improvement iron tested, designed to maximize height and carry. Loses some dispersion control compared to more compact heads.

Wedges

Callaway’s new Opus wedge line was one of the most talked-about additions of 2025, debuting with a redesigned face-milling pattern and “SPIN-GEN” grooves aimed at maintaining spin in different conditions. In wedge testing, both the Opus and Opus SP posted above-average spin numbers and excellent full-swing distance control.

While neither took the top overall spot, the SP variant performed particularly well in wet-condition testing and was praised for its soft, solid feel at impact.

Callaway Opus SP Wedge: Delivered some of the best wet-condition spin retention in 2025 testing. Slightly higher launch and softer feel reduce spin marginally for very aggressive players.

Callaway Opus Wedge: Balanced option with consistent carry distance and strong control from 50 yards and in. Didn’t lead the test overall but offered reliable short-game performance across all conditions.

Putters

Odyssey continued its run of consistency in 2025, earning strong finishes across multiple putter categories even if none captured the overall top spot. All three of the putters listed below earned praise from testers for stability and roll consistency.

Odyssey Ai-ONE Milled Two T (Blade): Known for its precise distance control and clean, traditional alignment. Firmer feedback gives great responsiveness but can feel unforgiving on off-center hits.

Odyssey Ai-ONE 7 (Mallet): Finished near the top of the mallet test, delivering easy alignment and smooth, stable roll. Slightly muted feel may not appeal to golfers who prefer sharper acoustic feedback.

Odyssey Ai-ONE S2S Jailbird (Zero-Torque): One of the best performers in the zero-torque category, excelling in start-line control and consistency for straight-back/straight-through strokes.

Final thoughts

Callaway earned the title of Best Driver of the Year in 2025 but there were other strong performances across all testing categories. There were strong differences between each of the models tested so get fitted for a club that works best for your golf game.

Ive used Callaway since the X14 irons came out. Bought the Elyte Mini, 3 wood and 5 wood Ti models this year. These clubs are amazing. Hot off the face and long. Highly recommend them to anyone.

I’ve been a TM driver fan since they came out with the first carbon faces , but this years’ Callaway driver offerings blow them off the map in terms of distance, feel, forgiveness, and looks–especially the Triple Diamond Max. Paired with the new KBS TD 50 shaft, I can say it’s the longest and straightest driver I’ve ever owned (and there have been many!)

The fact is that I love Callaway products. I’ve tried other brands and don’t get the same feels that I do with Callaway. My story goes back to new X-12 irons that I only parted with this year. I took time away from golf and used the X-12’s for a time upon returning. I wanted to try newer and better, so I got a new older set of Big Bertha irons and a driver off of eBay last year, along with slightly used hybrids. What I didn’t know was how much things had changed with club and shaft setup and options. They all would have worked great if I was still 30 years old and could swing much faster. This spring, I traded in those clubs for Elyte HL irons, hybrids and driver, made for me. Obviously, they came with better results. I did get a Callaway pre-owned Odyssey Versa 7 to replace my 1990’s Odyssey Rossie blade (since replaced by a Scotty Phantom 7.2 that I really like) and an Opus Platinum 56. I have recently added (arrived yesterday) the Apex UW and am looking forward to trying it out on the course. Have I spent a small fortune on brand loyalty in 2025? Of course, but I’m happy with the setup. It will allow me to enjoy golf my remaining days of playing, as well as give me options for wherever I may be playing.
