A MYGOLFSPY Insider sent us this shot of the new Ping Rapture V2 Irons that have been floating around on tour recently. According to our sources, the new Ping Rapture V2 Irons will debut sometime next year. These are considered “Super Game Improvement” and will have some new technology that you will see in the toe of the sole and also improved perimeter weighting.

Better The 2nd Time Around

The 2nd Version of their popular Rapture line is obviously a game improvement iron and geared for the mid to higher handicap player. If you asked us…Ping has the mid-size and game improvement irons down pat…only thing left to master for them seems to be the players club that appeals to the better player at address. For some reason they just always seem to have the look of having a little too much offset.

Players Testing Them Out

No players have put the V2 clubs in play yet, but some of Ping’s guys have tested the prototype Rapture V2 irons (Angel Cabrera, Hunter Mahan and Miguel Angel Jiménez). The multi-material irons will have a titanium face and a tungsten weight in the toe area of the sole.
