New Balance Heritage, CALIA 327 Golf Shoes: Making Dad Shoes Cool?

Gone are the days when New Balance shoes were reserved for mowing the grass. The Boston-based running brand has become quite the cultural phenomenon in streetwear and sneakers.

Over the past few years. the brand has quietly started to give their golf shoes a more hip, lifestyle-focused facelift.

The two latest additions to the New Balance golf portfolio have arrived. Drop the “Dad Shoe” moniker, the Heritage and CALIA 327 golf shoes aim to give the boys (and girls) from Boston some legit credibility on the golf course. While both models have been around for a bit now, they’ve been revamped with fresh designs available exclusively at DICK’S and Golf Galaxy.

Release Details

  • Two new models
  • New Balance and CALIA 327 golf shoes (Women’s, $109.99)
  • New Balance Heritage golf shoes (Men’s, $139.99)
  • Available exclusively at DICK’S and Golf Galaxy

New Balance Heritage: A Familiar Feel

Let’s start with the New Balance Heritage golf shoes. Billed as a shoe that blends modern performance with old-school aesthetic, the Heritage shoe is reminiscent of what’s considered by most to be the brand’s most popular shoe, the 997.

I know what you’re thinking: Haven’t we already seen a New Balance 997 golf shoe? Yes. However, that shoe was more of a lifestyle shoe than a performance golf shoe. The Heritage should fall somewhere in the middle. It strives for better performance without sacrificing that iconic New Balance look and feel.

The plus DynaSoft midsole should provides a comfortable ride and the rubber outsole lined Fast Twist 3.0 Pulsar replaceable spikes will keep you grounded when you need it.

New Balance and CALIA 327: Finally!

It’s very rare in the golf shoe space to see cool, comfortable products exclusively for women. Shout out to New Balance and CALIA for keeping the ladies fresh with the 327!

CALIA is a DICK’S house brand that’s designed by Carrie Underwood. CALIA is more fashion-focused and obviously geared specifically towards women. Making the 327 golf shoe in partnership with CALIA shows New Balance is serious about giving women a serious option in a space that’s only growing smaller.

While more lifestyle-focused than the Heritage, the spikeless rubber outsole and waterproof microfiber upper should still be plenty useful for a casual round on the course.

New Balance come in wide width and are extremely comfortable. Hopefully they won’t sacrifice that.

Okay Conner here is my story; Sure a good looking shoe is nice to put on and to wow your partners but for me I have a different take. I’m a seventy year old that likes to walk the golf courses but have foot neuropathy. So you see it can’t just be about a new styling pair of kicks. I’m looking for comfort of being able to walk three to five miles with no foot pain and maybe a little style to go along with that. How about an article on a golf shoe for us old duffers.

John, don’t wear golf shoes. Wear hiking shoes. Except in the wettest weather, they have enough traction and feel great while walking 18 or 36.(and if its that wet, I’m headed to the clubhouse for a bourbon) Been doing it for 2 years and don’t regret it.
