RIPIT Golf Grips

Can you see it? Can you feel it? Golf style is slowly evolving. Golf shoes, golf shirts—heck, even golf gloves—are no longer offered in only boring, plain white.

RIPIT saw the traditional golf grip as the next blank canvas with which to express their own sense of style and art. The results are objectively awesome.

Let’s take a closer look at the budding “art” company that’s putting their loud (and sometimes brash) spin on the golf grip.

Need to Know

  • Available for purchase as singular grips or in a series of different package sets
  • Over 20 grip styles and patterns
  • Made of multi-compound rubber for tack and feel
  • Relaxed taper from butt to tail

Pretty or Performance?

RIPIT Mr. Squiggle golf grip

As mentioned, RIPIT’s grips are objectively awesome in style. But if they can’t do their job, they’re useless.

I immediately threw The Squiggle grip on my favorite wedge and pitted it against a stalwart in the world of grips: the Lamkin Crossline.

The RIPIT grip provided excellent grip and tack. It’s on the firmer side but has a little less of that “chalky feel” that I associate with the Lamkin Crossline.

My favorite thing about The Squiggle is the larger grooves baked into the design and artwork. I found that, especially when wet, these larger, deeper grooves enhanced my ability to hold fast to the club. Whether intentional or not, I really do think the different RIPIT patterns have the potential to provide solid performance benefits overall.

One thing I’ll note is that the seams of the grips (where the two halves of the grip meet during the molding process) are pretty noticeable. You can’t feel the seam but it is visible. Just an observation; nothing too serious here.

I’ll also mention I haven’t tried all the RIPIT golf grip designs. Therefore, I should issue a warning: Different patterns and styles may not perform exactly how The Squiggle did for me. That said, the rubber compound and larger grooves seem to be consistent across the lineup.I’m willing to bet the other styles offer the same performance benefits.

In short, RIPIT golf grips aren’t just pretty. They hold up on the performance side of things, too.

Choose Your Fighter

The toughest thing about RIPIT’s grip lineup? Choosing the design that’s right for you. With 20-plus styles and even a few putter grips at your disposal, it’s never been more fun to regrip your clubs.

RIPIT says it best: “Golf clubs are an extension of your body so why shouldn’t they be an extension of your style?”

Amen to that.
