Stitch SL2 MIY Golf Bag

Looking to make a custom golf bag? No one makes it easier to personalize your perfect golf bag than Stitch Golf.

This week, Stitch announced the newest bag in its comprehensive lineup: the SL2 MIY. This new addition to Stitch’s robust golf offerings serves as a catalyst for the brand’s Make It Yours (MIY) program.

With the new SL2 MIY, golfers will be able to completely customize the bag to their liking in an effort to …. well, make it yours.

Let’s take a closer look at this new customizable golf bag and see if it’s the right fit for you.

How Custom is Custom?

To be clear, the new Stitch SL2 MIY is custom, not bespoke. That difference is important. “Bespoke” connotes total customization. This is not the case with the Stitch SL2 MIY. Instead of giving the golfer free rein, Stitch offers a preset of colors from which to choose.

The Stitch SL2 MIY is offered in two main chassis configurations with three color options for the saddle and strap, respectively.

Customizing your Stitch SL2 MIY golf bag is simple. Choose a chassis color. Your options here are Glacier White or Midnight (navy). Next, choose your saddle. The saddle portion of the bag is offered in three colors: Glacier White, Midnight and Stitch Blue. Any personalization you want done to the bag will happen in this step via a personalized ingot. You can choose between either two vertical characters or three horizontal characters.

Choose a strap color from the same three color options and your bag is ready to be made and delivered. It’s a pretty simple process, sure, but it allows for quite a few different color combinations.

Hot Swap

A look at the saddle of the Stitch SL2 MIY

Perhaps an underrated feature of the new Stitch SL2 MIY golf bag is the ability to purchase its components separately. This is to say that if you’re bored of the color combination you originally purchased, you can always buy an extra strap or saddle in a different color to suit your liking.

The ability to swap out components of a golf bag in this way is something that I feel more brands should do. Modularity, after all, is the best way to keep an older product feeling fresh and new.

The same goes for durability. If the strap starts to wear out, just purchase a new one. What a novel idea!

Fashion or Function?

Stitch SL2 MIY Custom golf bag

I’ve tested quite a few golf bags so it’s easy for me to say that, in the past, Stitch Golf has often focused too much on fashion at the expense of function. The new SL2 MIY seems to be a step in the right direction.

The SL2 MIY is intended to be a carry bag. Any good carry bag needs good storage which is why Stitch bumped up the usable space by 50 percent. Big brownie points from me, here.

That extra storage does come at a cost, however. The Stitch SL2 MIY weighs in at more than six pounds, nearly two more than the previous version.

Regardless of the extra weight, it’s clear Stitch put more thought into the actual functionality of their new SL2 MIY golf bag. Even the addition of the golf ball pocket’s magnetic closure is a big win.

If I had one complaint overall, it would be the lack of color options. Hopefully, this is something Stitch can remedy in the future. An orange-on-orange-on-orange SL2 MIY would look pretty sweet.

If you’re on the hunt for a customizable golf bag, head over to Stitch and check out the new SL2 MIY.

Does anyone make a carry-bag size with cart-bag top slant? So I can more easily travel with it and when loaded on a cart the clubs are easily accessible ( unlike carry-bags which slant towards the stand.
