Did the bag designer at Vessel go to work for Titleist?

I’ve had this bag for a few years now. It’s nice but here’s my two cents. On hot days to carry, the bag gets hot against your back. Doesn’t breathe well. My clubs are constantly tangled as well which drives me nuts. Overall, it’s a very nice bag to have and look at. Personally knowing what I know now, if I were to buy a new bag anytime soon I’d look for something a little more breathable with addressing the club tangle issue.

Is it me? The game is getting too complex. I have a fairly light older Titleist stand bag. The legs zip into pockets so they are not an issue when I put it on my “vintage” Sun Mountain cart that I use 100% of the time. It’s light. Makes the cart easy to push. Storage? Are we going on vacation? I live in the Pacific Northwest and we can get four seasons in 9 holes. Rain gear, umbrella, sandwich and a drink. Balls, tees. What else is there? My “old” Leupold GX1 range finder works just fine thank-you. Picks up a pin at 200+ yards and since I am not Rory that is just fine. I do have modern clubs that have been fitted and play Tour quality balls. Mostly V1x’s.

I have the Members bag with the 4 way divider. I walk and carry often. I will say that while the bag looks very nice, the club tangle is horrendous (and I use regular size grips). Drives me crazy. It’s my one big gripe. I wonder about the Vessel VLS Stand bag – whether that is similar or not. Interested to hear the experience of others. Thanks.

Connor, nice overview of the bags.

I’d like to pose a question, how many golfers (esp >30 years old) actually carry their bags? At my home course, they will do up to 240 rounds on an in-season Sat or Sun. While I do see more people walking (w/ a push cart) than in year’s past), I doubt if I see more than 1% of the total golfers there carrying their bags. Yet it seems as if many of the bags featured on MGS are carry bags with legs. Curious to know what other readers think in terms of people who actually carry their bags over 18 holes.

I haven’t walked in decades but I do prefer a stand bag vs a cart bag. Maybe they target old farts like me.

I’ve noticed that about half of those who ride still use a carry bag. Don’t know the reason why, but they do.

Sure does have a BIG Vessel vibe going to these.

Agreed. And the price is essentially the same. At 5.3 lbs it’s just about a pound lighter than a Player IV, but heavier than the VLX and VLS. Caddies will appreciate that, but it also seems to have a lot less storage so not as good for cart, pull cart, or travel as the Vessel.
