FootJoy Premiere Series Receives Upgrade, Headlined by New Marquis Model

It’s here, and it’s freakin’ glorious.

FootJoy’s latest iteration on the popular Premiere series is here, and one particular model stands out above the rest.

Introducing the FootJoy Premiere Series Marquis.

It joins the ranks of the Premiere Series Packard, but brings its own flavor and twist to the classic FootJoy mold. Classic wingtip styling. Smooth leather/nubuck. Premium detailing.

And holy moly is it beautiful.

There are few shoes, if any, prettier than the new FootJoy Premiere Series Marquis. But it ain’t just a pretty face. FootJoy has updated some of the tooling, too, for enhanced performance.

Performance enhancements come mainly in the way of traction. The new Premiere Series models, including the Marquis and Packard, feature what FootJoy is calling ARCTrax outsole technology. Fancy words for a retooled traction pattern. From what I can tell, there are a few extra lugs (of the spikey variety) and the actual pattern seems slightly different for what I can assume is better rotational resistance.

In any case, the fit has also been slightly updated with a retouching of the tongue and collar padding. This, along with the retooled traction, has contributed to a non-significant reduction in weight.

Nothing crazy here. No reinventing the wheel. Just a few improvements to key areas and a classy new aesthetic with elevated materials.

In other words, the FootJoy Premiere Series Marquis is classic FootJoy. And that’s just the way it should be.

The new Packard model hits retail mid-March, while the new Marquis model doesn’t hit retail until the end of April.

Remember when Tiger attempted a comeback after the car accident? He was still sponsored by Nike, but changed to FootJoy golf shoes. Repeat – sponsored by Nike and wearing FootJoy. Why, because Footjoy makes the best golf shoes. Everything else is just filler.
