Nike Golf Welcomes You to LA

Nike Golf Welcomes You to LA

In less than 35 words, here’s the background:

I’m relatively of the plane (as fresh as anyone can be after traveling cross-country) at LAX to attend a Nike Golf event ahead of the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club. As per usually, there was a welcome kit waiting.

Here are a couple of pics, the most important of which is the welcome letter outlining the purpose of the event.

Not a fan of Nike apparrel, other than the solar sleeves and caps….I love the headband on the Nike caps…Now, for the Nike welcome….I like the nice leather bag and the letter itself is warm and friendly. But how do they pull it all together? There should be some form of a coordination theme for the apparrel line….

Is the retail on the Goodie Bag more or less than a round at Pebble Beach?

With what shirts go for these days, it’s close.

So far I’m confused, based on instagram pictures and what we know
1 The clubs are blue and shocking/neon yellow
2 The Shoes look like the “snow show” on TV in various colours (leaning toward high top design)
3 The shirts are again just smaller collars, with studs instead of buttons
4 The welcome kit is – of all things – Brown Leather?

Not that I match my clothing to my clubs or anything, but there has to be some colour or thematic consistency in the season, right?

I don’t think I could ever be “inspired” by Nike golf designers. What does that mean? Let me know if they “inspired” you.

World’s best athletes sharing their thoughts on the new golf look? Since it is worded this way, I am assuming that these athletes may not all be golfers. So, who is there?

What is the “modern look of golf”? How is it different from the traditional look of golf? “You know, clubs, bags, shoes, gloves, shirt, pants.” I bet they still have naked lady tees. If the modern look of golf is so en vogue, why do we need a fresh perspective on the look from athletes?

      Sorry.

Pretty sure the “modern” golf look is flashier and more casual. You know, not pastel Polos, Brooks Brothers khakis, brown leather golf spikes that look basically like dress shoes and woven belts.

I am amazed at how subtle this layout is (bag and letter). Looks interesting that this whole event is just for a clothing line.

I’m generally a fan of Nike apparel. Own a lot of it in fact. But so far this is a non-story. Report back w/more facts pls.
