The Best Water Bottle on the Planet Is On Sale (For a Limited Time)

There are few things in my life that I keep coming back to. I’m the type who likes to have a different pair of shoes for every day. And I’m rarely one to stick to a routine.

There is, however, one constant that I can’t seem to shake: my Owala water bottle.

For years, I’ve been searching for the perfect water bottle to carry with me throughout my day. Hydroflask, Yeti, Stanley … I’ve tried ’em all. None is as good as Owala.

Call me boring, but the Freesip technology is a revolution. And there’s never been a better time to try it out for yourself.

From now until Aug 9, Owala is running a back-to-school sale. That means EVERYTHING on the site is 20% off.

You heard it here first. This is the best water bottle on the planet. Now, at the best price on the planet.

I use a 32oz Nalgene. It holds more than all of these vacuum sealed bottles (unless you get a super big one). It won’t stay cold or anything, but I’ll drink more. I don’t know about you, but I drink the full 32oz when it’s hot, no problem. I use a Humangear capCap for easier sipping. Tons of mods are available for Nalgenes.

The sip thing on the Owalas is nice, I give them that.

I concur, although I think Owala and HydroFlask are equal to the task.

I’d been a HydroFlask guy for 3 years now, and a couple of months ago decided to try Owala, because I could either tip it or drink from the straw. I liked that versatility. I now have 2 Owalas to go along with my 4 (IIRC) HydroFlasks. For drinkware and tumblers, I’m solely a YETI guy (20+), but their water bottles are unimaginative and impractical. I do have one, and I never use it.

Anyway, my Owalas are short enough to fit under the water dispenser in my (very poorly designed fridge/freezer), and their base is just small enough to fit in my car’s cupholders.

As for their primary function, ice in the morning is still ice the next morning (if I haven’t been hydrating properly) here in … Puerto Rico.

Owala and HydroFlask. They’re the best.

      Connor,

I must disagree with your assessment that Owalas are the best bottle. My daughter has one, and I have observed two glaring issues with it:

      1. The lid cracked the first time non-standard pressure was applied to it (the cap was squeezed in a bag, and the cap cracked due to the pressure).

      2. The locking mechanism is not great. If the bottle is not in a side pocket on a backpack, I have found the cap pops open far too easily, releasing the contents into whatever bag it is in.

I prefer either Aquatix or Zulu Ace bottles. And bottle straws are a PITA to keep clean, so if I did have an Owala, I would never use the straw.

Connor, I love your reviews, and your shoe fetish is legendary. However, on this subject I must take exception to you top water bottle recommendation. For me, the top two water bottles for the golf course, gym, and just walking on a hot day are:

      1.) Contigo

      2.) ORCA

Both of these bottles are convenient, and they keep whatever beverage you prefer for hydration nice and cold. I give the Contigo bottle a slight advantage because of the easy one-hand operation with the pop-up drinking spout that is lockable.
