The TravisMathew x St Andrews Collection Is Heritage Golf Done Right

There are golf collaborations, and then there are St Andrews collaborations.

The difference? Most brands slap a tartan on a polo and call it heritage. TravisMathew’s latest collection with St Andrews Links actually understands the assignment.

Now in its fourth year partnering with the Home of Golf, TravisMathew is back with a full apparel and footwear lineup that leans into the history of St Andrews without feeling overly traditional or costume-y. Think modern silhouettes, performance fabrics and just enough tartan to remind you this isn’t your local muni merch shop.

The centerpiece is the limited-edition NuAge Mega Tartan shoe and, honestly, it’s the kind of release that’s probably going to do numbers online. The silhouette debuted earlier this year (and one copious awards in the MyGolfSpy spiked shoe test). But now gets the full St Andrews treatment with an exclusive tartan print tied directly to the partnership.

The rest of the collection follows a similar formula. Polos, layering pieces, tees and accessories all pull from classic golf aesthetics while staying wearable outside the ropes. That balance has become TravisMathew’s sweet spot over the last few years and this collection probably represents the cleanest version of it yet.

The partnership itself has also become a bigger part of TravisMathew’s identity. Between the retail store overlooking the 18th green and the brand’s annual ambassador summit at St Andrews, this has evolved beyond a simple logo licensing play.

And honestly, that’s what makes the collection work. It doesn’t feel like a brand borrowing history. It feels like one trying to become part of it.

Everything done right but those prices. $50 for a hat? $250 for -meh- shoes? Those prices need a mulligan.
