This Honma x Bugatti Golf Collab Might Just Make Your Jaw Drop

Bugatti is a legendary French sports car brand. Honma considered itself a premium Japanese golf equipment and lifestyle company.

Whaddya say we put these two crazy kids together and see what happens?

Yes, friends, we have a new sports car x golf company collaboration to tell you about today. But this Honma x Bugatti limited edition is very different from what McLaren is doing. While McLaren is starting its own golf brand from the ground up, Honma and Bugatti are simply leveraging each other to deliver a curated equipment collection.

Honma x Bugatti Collection

It ain’t McLaren, but it sure is sporty. Just dig what the press release says:

“This remarkable creation seamlessly mergers ultimate craftsmanship with the grace of the sport, redefining the boundaries of luxury performance.”

That statement says many things. Most of all it says if you are easily offended by significant price tags, you’ll probably want to skip the rest of this article.

It won’t make you happy.

On the other hand, if you’re secure in your personhood and aren’t threatened by things you might not be able to afford, by all means read on. It’s cool stuff to look at and reading about it doesn’t cost you a thing.

Honma x Bugatti Collection

Honma x Bugatti Collection: “Ultimate craftsmanship”

Honma’s press release tells us the two brands “share a relentless pursuit of the perfect fusion of art and technology.”

That’s pretty language but it’s also technically accurate. You want to drop $4 million on a sports car? Bugatti should be high on your list. You want to drop $60,000 on a set of gilded golf clubs? Honma’s Beres line is your baby. Together, they give you the Honma x Bugatti collection.

I’m sure you can see where this is going.

First up is the Honma Tour World Premium collection. The line is based on Honma’s current Tour World TW777 line of irons and metalwoods, with a unique Bugatti flair.

We’ve given you the TW777 details already but the short version says the set includes Honma’s most advanced driver to date, with a titanium-carbon composite body. It also includes fairway woods, hybrids (which Honma calls UT clubs), as well as Honma’s precision CNC-milled forged irons and a couple of wedges, a putter, a bag and Bugatti headcovers. The set is a relative bargain at $6,500.

Beres Super Premium Collection

Whereas the Tour World collection is meant to be played, Honma says the Beres Super Premium Collection is “heirloom” worthy. The Super Premium collection is offered in Beres’ signature 3 Star, 4 Star and 5 Star packages, depending on how much you’re into gold.

If you find yourself wanting the 5 Star line, you better hop to it. Honma is only making 20 sets for worldwide distribution.

According to Honma, the Super Premium Collection combines the “artistry of Beres with design principles taken from the Bugatti Tourbillon.” The Tourbillon is Bugatti’s high-end hypercar and is considered one of the most advanced, fastest and most expensive cars in the world.

In case you’re wondering, the Tourbillon starts at just over $4 million.

Also in case you’re wondering, the 3 Star Beres Super Premium Collection sells for $12,500. The 4 Star package sells for $25,000, while the 5 Star package, all 20 of them, will go for $72,000 each.

Which, for the record, includes the Bugatti Super Premium putter. Its shaping is taken from the rear profile of Tourbillon while the sole hints at Bugatti’s signature tachometer. And just because I could never write anything this poetic, I want to share this lovely bit of prose from the press release:

“More than just a putter, this is a masterfully crafted piece that perfectly fuses function with sensibility – making every stroke on the green as precise and poised as a Bugatti car carving through a corner.”

Gee, I love that kind of talk.

The 4 Star version sells separately for $3,200. The 5 Star is $9,600.

Wait, it’s how much?

Yeah, it’s a lot.

Is it ridiculous? Almost certainly. Will Honma sell out? Also almost certainly.

Look, friends, these offerings aren’t made for the likes of you or me (presuming, of course, that I’m in your tax bracket). They’re also not made for people looking for the perfect golf equipment to help optimize their games. Collections like these are made for people who can shake that kind of money out of their couch cushions.

And there are more of those folks out there than you’d think.

If you’re getting ready to spice up the comments section saying that this collection is for people who have more money than brains, I’d say that’s entirely accurate. Don’t take that to mean that people with this kind of money are short on brains. They may very well have a ton of brains. It’s just that they have even more money.

In the big picture, the existence of this type of collection matters neither a jot nor a tittle to us regular folk. The ultra-rich, the ones for whom these prices are relative chump change, are different. They can spend their money any way they want.

So my advice is be outraged if you must but remember that it’s just golf equipment. It may be out of reach for most of us but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun looking at it.

If you’re in this tax bracket, please note the Honma x Bugatti is on sale now on the Honma website and through Honma authorized dealers.

Also if you’re in this tax bracket, please feel free to invite me to your club for a round. I’d love to see these babies in person.
