The new 2025 equipment is hitting the shelves. If you have a driver from 2024 that you are thinking of trading in, we did some research for you. We all know that, when it comes to depreciation of value, the first time you hit a new driver is just like driving a new car off the lot. However, these 10 drivers held their pricing better than any of the other top models in 2024. If you are a savvy shopper, you’ll keep this in mind if you purchase equipment in 2025.
Top 10 highest driver trade-in values
We pulled all the 2024 driver releases and ran them through the PGA of America Value Guide and the Golf Galaxy Trade-In value calculators. We used that data to develop this table. With any of these clubs, you would get this estimated trade-in value (a range for PGA and a max value for Golf Galaxy), then send the club in for an official valuation. As long as it’s in great shape, here is what you can expect.
Manufacturer | Model | PGA Trade-In Value | Golf Galaxy Trade-In Value |
---|---|---|---|
Titleist | GT4 | $231 – $396 | $309 |
Titleist | GT3 | $231 – $396 | $309 |
Titleist | GT2 | $231 – $396 | $309 |
PING | G430 Max 10K | $159 – $273 | $275 |
Callaway | Paradym Ai Smoke TD Tactical Edition | $126 – $216 | $210 |
Titleist | TSR1 | $123 – $210 | $200 |
Titleist | TSR2 | $123 – $210 | $200 |
Titleist | TSR3 | $123 – $210 | $200 |
Titleist | TSR4 | $123 – $210 | $200 |
TaylorMade | Qi10 LS | $119 – $205 | $192 |
A few things we noticed
While putting this together, pulling all of the 2024 models and checking their value, a few things stood out.
Compare trade-in programs before you commit
Not all golf trade-in programs are the same. There are times when the PGA trade-in was higher than Golf Galaxy and vice versa. The PGA TOUR Superstore and 2ndSwing websites also have trade-in programs.
Timing matters
If you noticed, the Titleist GT drivers were the highest priced and that has a lot to do with their age. The sooner you trade in your old driver, the better your deal will be. This pricing is ever-changing. As the new 2025 models are released and then start becoming available used, you’ll see the pricing change again.
Know the value tiers of your driver
Titleist and PING drivers typically hold higher trade-in value compared to other makes. If you purchase these high-value drivers, make sure you trade them in before their depreciation accelerates. Keep an eye out for promotions like “extra 10% credit” and deals that major retailers offer.
Factor in condition
These numbers reflect a driver in good condition with no damage. If you are concerned about the condition of your current clubs, consider bringing them to a retail location to trade them in. You’ll get a better idea of the value before you have to go through the process of packaging them and shipping them off to be valued.
Consider selling on your own
You’ll get more money for your equipment if you can find a private buyer. The problem is you may also sit on it and miss the optimal window to sell it. Start local when the time is right. If it doesn’t work right away, trade it in while the value is still high. Use your trade-in value and other listings for the same used equipment as a target to set pricing for the driver you are trying to sell.
