Top 37 Drivers Ranked by Distance

The more clubs we test, the clearer it becomes that accuracy is key if you want to score low. But let’s be honest, when it comes to the driver, distance is what every golfer craves.

It’s hard to convince any player (beginner or veteran) that it’s not all about those extra yards off the tee.

In our 2024 driver testing, we ranked 37 drivers by total distance. The yardage gap between the top performer, the Callaway Paradym Smoke Ai Triple Diamond, and the last-place finisher, the Krank Formula Fire Pro, is 15.58 yards. That’s a difference you’ll notice on the course.

I like these tests because MGS uses the robot to test them. None of us are going to swing the exact same way each time so to have base line numbers to go by is a good starting point. I still think its important to test a few on your own before selecting a new driver but these reports make a difference.

MGS club tests are human swings. This is just a ranking of the averages from all testers.

Are all these heads tested at the exact same length, with the exact same shafts? If not, the data is really fairly useless.

The numbers look good. my only problem is you take somebody that has a very slow swing speed. Down to 70s or 80s. The average golfer you give them a stiff to extra stiff club. Ain’t going nowhere. Took the club and put a softer shaft in with the same head. It’s going to go farther.. using that machine machine has the same speed every time. ?? Over the years I’ve gotten older I’ve had to go to a soft chef to get the kick. I’m still playing the club that I made 20 years ago. It wouldn’t go as far as my new club.. thank you

I simply do not understand the need to increase 10 yardsbof driver distance for an average golfer ( by spending ). Hit your irons better for those 10 yards.

Just wondering if you tested the TD MAX AI SMOKE WAS TESTED? As weird as putting TD and MAX in the same name is that is my driver. And when I mean that it’s my driver I’ll never let it go! I won the AI SMOKE MAX then they brought out the TD MAX and it was mind boggling how much further it went for me than the TD or The MAX themselves! I don’t feel I’m constantly hitting the spot to use just the TD but better than just the MAX then BOOM POW KAHBAM TD MAX! Maybe it’s just in my head but it was love at first shot! I love it I think all the callaway drivers this year were tremendous anyway did u test the TD MAX?

The top 25 are 5 yards apart , so obviously out of those the tighter group would of way more importance

I couldn’t find the shaft used in tests. Was it the same or similar shaft used in each head?

Last year’s (2023) Cobra Aerojet LS was longer than any of these, assuming they used the same basic testing methods.

I would love to see more brand year to year comparisons. For instance take the Ping G400 models to current in the same test. I think we all know but it would be nice to see just how minimal the differences actually are.

I don’t know much about Krank, but aren’t they marketed as being a driver for big hitters like Bryson?

As with everything, there’s no one single fit for every person.

Maybe I’m in the minority on this, but I’d happily trade 15 yards off the tee for tighter tee shot dispersion.
