The Best Budget Golf Balls Of 2025

Not everyone needs or can afford a premium-priced golf ball. Fortunately, there are golf balls on the market that suit every golfer, at every skill level and/or budget.

One of the many advantages of testing 44 different golf ball models this year is that we found there are some standout performers in every category.

Here are the best budget golf balls of 2025, based on the 2025 MyGolfSpy Golf Ball Test presented by UNRL.

BEST BUDGET/CHEAP GOLF BALLS

Maxfli

Tour X

PXG

Xtreme Tour

Kirkland Signature

Performance+

Srixon

Ultispeed

Best mid-priced

Winner: Maxfli Tour

The 2025 test again flagged Maxfli Tour as an excellent value with balanced performance. It hits that middle lane where many golfers live: solid speedplayable trajectory and credible wedge spin for the price. If you want near-premium on-course results without paying premium pricing, this is a great choice.

✅ Buy if: you want “do-most-things-well” performance at a mid price.
❌ Skip if: you specifically need high-compression firmness or ultra-soft feel.

Runner-up: PXG Xtreme Tour

Firm, fast and distance-leaning with good iron flight (and not to mention on sale), the PXG Xtreme Tour is a strong mid-price alternative for players who like a more solid strike.

Runner-up: Vice Pro

A reliable mid-spin/mid-flight package with good iron distance at mid speed, the Vice Pro is a perennial DTC performer according to our test trends.

Best value

Winner: Kirkland Signature Performance+

Our 2025 ball test shows a different Kirkland than older versions: driver spin is no longer excessively high and it offers notable height in some conditions along with a urethane cover at a low price.

Greenside spin isn’t the highest but its value case is hard to argue against.

✅ Buy if: you want real urethane performance at a warehouse price.
❌ Skip if: you need maximum wedge spin or a softer-than-average feel.

Runner-up: Srixon Ultispeed

Among ionomer picks, the Srixon Ultispeed showed surprising driver/iron distance in 2025. Greenside spin lags urethane (as expected) but the value is strong.

I can definitely vouch for the Maxfli tour balls. I use mostly prov1x and AVX and the Maxfli balls compare very favorably with them, but as 1 reader aptly said, $40 is really not budget.

Down to $30/dozen with bulk purchases, and less with coupons and points.

The latest Kirkland ball is as good as any other tour type ball and at $14 per dozen.

What about the Members Mark ball at 2 dozen for $29.95?

Connor, was the Tour Edge Exotics ball not available? Some of the golf balls you have on the list are questionable at best. We all have opinions, so it is what it is. In my opinion the Tour Edge Exotic ball is incredible!!! I got a hold of some 2 packs before the release,10/27 and have been using it, gaining 10-15 yards off tee, durable and spins around the greens. 7 handicapper from AZ. Same ball for 5 plus rounds. Will you guys be reviewing it or on your radar? 39.99 dozen

$39.99 does not fit my description of “budget” ball !!

Look at the other posts. You can ignore list prices. Mid-range balls often go on sale. A few weeks ago I picked 2024 Maxfli Tour closeout from Dicks Sporing Goods at $90 for 48, $22.50 a dozen.

You highlight Maxfli Tour in this article, yet the link to buy is to the Maxfli Tour X?

Oh, sorry, I guess the text says Tour X, but the link does go to the right ball.

budget golf balls need to be below $25 to be called a budget golf ball (in my opinion). Everyone has a different threshold, but $39 is not a budget golf ball in anyone’s mind.

You can get pretty close to $25 per dozen with Maxfli Tours/Tour S’s if you buy 2024’s vs the newest 2025 and purchase 48 at a time for $109, sometimes $99 if Dick’s is having a sale.

Nice write up. I would also mention with the Tour that the Tour X will be firmer and the Tour S will be softer. They are all priced the same at $40/dozen, as low as $30/dozen with bulk purchasing. You can also get coupons and points through DSG.

I personally play the Tour X and really enjoy it. Maxfli is a hidden gem.

Love the Tour X, and I have never paid close to $40 for the Maxfli Tour balls.

This and this. I bought a (48) pack of Tour X during a sale, had them custom printed with my name, and they only cost me $105.98 including shipping and tax. Even at full price it only runs me $127.18 for a custom (48) pack.

And Dicks gives points so about once a year I get a $20 off coupon credited to my account.
