Top 3 Best Golf Bags For Golf Cart Owners

As a golf cart owner, I understand that finding the perfect bag is critical. When your bag is spending most of its time attached to your cart, the key factors quickly become storage, organization and stability. Cart-specific golf bags generally provide superior protection and convenient storage but a hybrid bag can also offer versatility. Here are the top three best golf bags for golf cart owners.

Sun Mountain C-130 (Best Overall)

Sun Mountain C-130_Cart Bag_Most Wanted Testing 2025

The Sun Mountain C-130 was the best golf bag for riding in 2025.

Sun Mountain has been a proven performer through the years and the C-130 is their top-performing cart bag. If you value stability above all else, it’s a great choice.

Specifically designed to excel on a golf cart, it features Sun Mountain’s unique Smart Strap System that keeps your bag firmly in place. The best part is you can still access your gear while the bag is strapped in.

Our testers liked the generous storage compartments and organization that the C-130 provided.

Buy this if:

✅ Stability and ease of access while on the cart are priorities.

✅ You appreciate thoughtfully placed pockets.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ Your clubs are shorter than standard length as the top handles may interfere slightly.

Callaway CARGO (Great Storage)

The Callaway CARGO was the staff pick for 2025. It’s perfect for golfers who want maximum storage. With an impressive 45-liter (2,700 cubic inches) capacity, the CARGO easily handles apparel, gear and beverages.

Testers highlighted the CARGO’s practicality, noting it keeps items secure and organized.

The downside with the Callaway CARGO is that some larger or offset putter grips can occasionally catch in the molded putter well.

Buy this if:

✅ You regularly carry extra apparel, gear or drinks.

✅ You prioritize spacious pockets and reliable organization.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ You frequently use large or offset putter grips.

Callaway Fairway 14 (Versatile Choice)

Callaway Fairway 14

If you’re considering a versatile option that you can take off the cart from time to time, the Callaway Fairway 14 is your best hybrid choice. This is ideal if you like to take your golf bag off the cart and head to the range.

Remember that a bag like this won’t offer the same level of club protection as you get from the C-130 or CARGO bags.

Equipped with Callaway’s “Lowrider 2.0” technology, this bag features a lower-positioned stand mechanism and a rubberized patch near the top. These features help it integrate seamlessly with push, pull or riding carts.

Buy this if:

✅ You want a stable, versatile bag for both cart use and range practice.

✅ You are looking for well-organized storage compartments.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ You need ultimate club protection for long days on the cart or rough terrain.

Final thoughts

One other bag to consider is the OGIO Silencer. It was the runner-up for Best Cart Bag of 2025 thanks to its club protection system. It locks down your clubs and eliminates that annoying rattle and bag chatter. Some golfers love it while some find it more difficult to get clubs in and out. For cart owners who are tired of listening to clubs rattle, it’s worth a look.

If none of these top golf bags for cart owners is a good fit, take a look at the results of our complete golf bag testing of 2025.

Just thought I would throw a user tested endorsement for the Sunday Golf “Big Rig”. I got it last fall and use it with my MGi Zip Navigator. Definitely does not suck!!

What are people putting in these gigantic bags?

I got a big bag last year, mostly for when I travel. Having my shoes, weather gear, and a case of balls in addition to my normal cart bag stuff (first aid, sunscreen, and my EDC training stuff) means having one of the big ‘uns has been a godsend.

*However* it should be a crime for a riding cart mfgr. to use these tiny bag platforms. At least once I’ve had to hassle with the bag when it wouldn’t fit in the socket, even sideways…

Just bought a SM C130. Great bag overall, but my one complaint is it can tip forward if you’re a little front heavy. The base doesn’t expand out far enough to the front to avoid this mishap. If you were to look at a Titleist Cart 14 bag you’d see they have alleviated this issue.
