How Much Money Does Bryson DeChambeau Make On YouTube? We Ran The Numbers

How much do the most popular golfers on YouTube make in ad revenue?

I’ve done Grant Horvat and Rick Shiels, so let’s look at perhaps the hottest name in YouTube golf.

These numbers are only my estimations based on publicly available data including view counts, average RPMs and more.

As such, use this info only as that: a rough (but educated) guess as to what Bryson DeChambeau earns in YouTube ad revenue from his channel.

Keep in mind that this estimation doesn’t include any private sponsorship deals or his earnings from LIV Golf.

Understanding RPMs

The first thing to tackle is RPMs: revenue per mile. This number is crucial to estimating what DeChambeau makes per year on YouTube.

Simply put, an RPM is the amount of money a creator makes per 1,000 views, AFTER YouTube takes its cut.

YouTube Niche/CategoryEstimated Average RPM Range
Finance & InvestingHigh-End ($6 – $20+)
Make Money Online/BusinessHigh-End ($5 – $18+)
Digital Marketing/B2BHigh-End ($5 – $15+)
Technology/Gadget ReviewsMid-to-High ($4 – $10+)
Educational/TutorialsMid-to-High ($3 – $8)
Health & FitnessMid-Range ($2 – $7)
TravelMid-Range ($2 – $7)
Lifestyle/VlogsMid-to-Low ($1.50 – $4)
Cooking/FoodMid-to-Low ($1 – $3)
GamingLow-End ($1 – $3)
Music/Entertainment/ComedyLow-End ($0.50 – $2)

As I did with Grant Horvat and Rich Shiels, we’re going to assume an RPM of $3 for our calculations. This is my best guess as to what a golf YouTuber would be paid for every thousand views.

My estimation

From what I could find, DeChambeau has averaged around 22 million views per month so far this year. With more than 2.5 million subscribers, DeChambeau has a large audience.

Based on our RPM of $3, that averages out to about $66,000 per month in ad revenue which, across the entire year, puts us squarely in the $700,000-800,000 range. That’s a pretty penny for what is effectively a side hustle. DeChambeau signed a four-year, $125-million contract with LIV at its inception, and is reportedly now working on a contract extension that would put even more money in his Reebok-branded pants pocket.

If DeChambeau’s channel continues at this rate, it would take him more than 100 years of YouTube ad revenue to sniff his own career earnings on the golf course.

Even still, it’s a good chunk of change to make playing golf with some of the most famous people in the world a few times per week.

He does not need the money. Perhaps he does it because he enjoys all things golf.

he’s interesting and quirky like all geniuses, makes sense half like and half hate him. i give him credit for meaning well. how about an article on what he does for the community he lives in….which i believe is substantial.

He’s in no way “a genius”, more crackpot and a tiny bit eccentric.

Is it a prerequisite for Youtube golfers to be insufferable, boorish, narcissist jocks like this half wit?
Never anything new, just another “look at me, amn’t I great” video.

I’ve blocked as many Youtube golfers as I can, but a new one just pops up every day.

That 700-800k is a 5th or 6th place finish in one event on LIV.

LIV owns his youtub channel. So they are getting a piece of it as well.

It also costs him to create the content, right? He has to split $$ with other creators he collaborates with presumably. And pay venues, camera and editing guys, travel, etc.

All that has to add up.

Yes, he’s not banking $700k. He has expenses for sure.

And $3/rpm is a complete guess.
