Finding a good hybrid for less than $150 is not all that easy. The newest models are usually still too expensive and some of the cheaper used options are cheap for a reason.
That’s when I like to go back through older testing data.
If a hybrid performed well a year, two years, or even three years ago, there’s a good chance it can still help your game today, as long as it fills the proper gap in your bag. If it launches high enough, carries the right distance and gives you more confidence than the long iron it replaced, it’s worth considering.
Here are the used hybrids under $150 that still make sense to add to your bag.
How We Test
MyGolfSpy’s Most Wanted Testing is powered by:
- Titleist Pro V1 golf balls are a key component in testing. Every shot hit in Most Wanted utilizes these golf balls. They have long been the gold standard in golf ball quality, and it is the only ball we trust to complete our Most Wanted testing.
- Foresight GC Quad – Foresight is the gold standard in camera-based launch monitor technology because it produces data we can rely on with every shot hit.
- The Indoor Golf Shop’s SIGPRO Premium – All of our testing is done indoors at our HQ in Yorktown, Va. With each test, our screens take an absolute beating. Thus, we need high-quality, durable impact screens to handle the workload. SIGPRO Premium exceeds our expectations.
- UNRL Apparel – The official staff apparel partner of MyGolfSpy, we rely on UNRL to keep staff comfortable and focused at providing the world-class testing.
Cobra DS-Adapt

The COBRA DS-Adapt at $149 should be near the top of your list. This was the No. 1 overall hybrid in our 2025 test and had the strongest total score in the field.
The DS-Adapt was not just a distance-only club. It had an excellent performance score, finished well in forgiveness and still produced plenty of distance. For a current-model hybrid at this price, there is not much to overthink.
Mizuno JPX One

The Mizuno JPX One was the best overall hybrid in 2026. There are only a few used models in average condition around $150. For better condition, the price is going to push closer to $165. Distance was not the best trait for the Mizuno but this is a strong all-around hybrid.
Sub 70 949X

The Sub 70 949X may be the best pure value on this list. It won our 2022 hybrid test and then came back with another strong showing in 2023, finishing second overall.
You can find a used 949X around $89. It does not have the biggest name on the headcover but the performance-to-price case is hard to ignore.
TaylorMade Stealth 2

The TaylorMade Stealth 2 is the hybrid I would look at if distance is the main goal. It was not one of the safest all-around performers in the 2023 test but it did have the top distance score.
That makes it a specific-fit recommendation. If you are trying to replace a long iron and need that spot in the bag to produce more speed and carry, the Stealth 2 is worth hunting for. You may have to get a little lucky to find the right one under $150 but they are out there.
COBRA KING Tec

KING Tec finished third overall in the 2023 hybrid test and was still a top-10 finisher in 2025. The adjustability factor is great and these are easy to find in the $100 to $150 range.
Mizuno ST-Max 230

The Mizuno ST-Max 230 finished fourth overall in our 2024 hybrid test and ranked second in forgiveness.
At around $125, this is a good fit for golfers who care more about launch, stability and keeping the ball in play than squeezing out every last yard.
Tour Edge Exotics E722

The Exotics E722 finished third overall in our 2022 hybrid test, with strong forgiveness scores.
These are priced below $100. It may not have the same name recognition as TaylorMade, COBRA or Callaway but the combination of price, overall finish and stability is hard to ignore. The Tour Edge Exotics Max was the best for distance in our 2026 testing. It’s $229, higher than our $150 target, but keep an eye out for used models under $185.
Final thoughts
The point here is not to buy the cheapest hybrid you can find. It is to use older test data to find clubs that performed well enough to still deserve a look once the used price drops.
For me, the COBRA DS-Adapt and Mizuno JPX One are the most exciting finds because they are newer models with high-end test results.
A hybrid does not have to be brand new to earn a spot in your bag. It just has to do the job you need it to do.
