Top 20 Spiked Golf Shoes For Stability

“Stability” refers to how well a golf shoe resists twisting under pressure. In practical terms, that means less unwanted movement during the swing and a more secure base, especially through the lower body. That’s why options like the FootJoy HyperFlex, FootJoy Premiere and Sunday Red Pioneer Cypress rank near the top. They’re designed to stay grounded when your swing isn’t. One of the things that makes golfers choose spiked over spikeless golf shoes is their stability. Here are the top 20 best spiked golf shoes for stability.

Best spiked golf shoe for stability: FootJoy Hyperflex

The FootJoy HyperFlex is the most stable spiked golf shoe of 2025. It earns that title thanks to the new PowerPlate design which dramatically limits unwanted foot movement during the swing.

Despite its rigidity, testers found the HyperFlex surprisingly comfortable. Its StratoFoam cushioning helped produce that balance of comfort and stability.

It’s not the most flexible shoe in the test but if your priority is staying grounded and supported through every swing, this is the shoe to beat.

Why you should buy:
✅ Maximum stability thanks to the PowerPlate
✅ Comfortable enough for walking (StratoFoam midsole)
✅ Great traction across all turf conditions

Why you should pass:
❌ Limited flexibility in the forefoot
❌ Not ideal if you prefer a lightweight, athletic feel

I miss the old days of my metal spikes. I just liked how they felt.

Of course, I was an awkward youngster and prone to dragging my feet, much to the frustration of my dad.

Complete BS. The Tour 360 is not stable. It teeters and wobbles on the front outside corner. I tried. They suck.
The PUMA Ignite Elevate 2 Tour is like many that have the flat sole, but with spikes. These are also solid feeling shoes, not flimsy and soft like some of the others with soft cushions. They wrap the feet and heel really well. I feel attached to the ground so well. The traction is tremendous. My ground force is so much better that I strike my clubs so much more solidly. I gained half a club just switching to them. I had no idea that my feet were wobbling so much from the 360.
      Tremendous shoes.
      Should be on this list.

HaHa – Hyperflex, which used to be the offshoot of the awesome Free-Style shoe (one of my favorite shoes of ALL Time) is now the MOST stable golf shoe.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Change the name of the shoe for cripes sake!
