My 5 Favorite Golf Shoes Of The Year (So Far)

While I started at MyGolfSpy as a shoe tester, my new role permits only occasional moonlighting in the shoe testing department. Even still, I try and find as much time as I can to check out the latest and greatest from each brand.

Why? Because shoes, not golf, were my first love. Keep that in mind because when I tell you these are my five favorite golf shoes of the year (so far), It doesn’t mean these are the “best” golf shoes nor the top “performing” shoes of 2025 (so far).

That’s what Most Wanted testing is for.

This, friends, is a good ol’ fashioned opinion piece. A succinct list of the five shoes I really like (so far) this year. No data. No performance. Just a shoe geek who’s worn more than 150 pairs of golf shoes. (So far.)

1. adidas COURSECUP

The adidas COURSECUP stands out as a part of the new adidas Originals Golf drop earlier this month. Inspired by the adidas GOLD CUP (circa 1986), the shoe features modern tech but stays true to adidas Originals heritage and storied history. While I’ll definitely be rocking them without the included kiltie, no matter how you slice it, this golf shoe is flat out cool.

2. Under Armour Phantom FORE

If you’ve read any of my shoe content, you know I’m a sucker for sneakers-turned-golf shoes. The Phantom FORE is just that … a retooled version of UA’s popular trainer, the Phantom 4. Besides the modern athletic styling, I just love how comfortable this pair is. It’s easy to wear to the office, the course and for running a few errands. (and, yes, Tony Covey … they do offer them with BOA).

3. adidas Gazelle Golf

Another one from the recently released adidas Originals Golf collection, the Gazelle has been a streetwear staple for the past few years so I’m really stoked to see it make a life of its own on the golf course. I’ve never found the Gazelle to be super-comfortable, though, so keep that in mind if you plan on snagging this pair.

4. Reebok Question Golf

Remember what I said about sneakers? The Reebok Question is unquestionably one of the most iconic basketball shoes out there. So when I heard they turned it into a golf shoe? I had to have this pair. There are a few things I would change to make it a more one-to-one recreation of its hardcourt counterpart but it’s still cool, nonetheless.

Goatlane Contour

The shoe I dubbed “the best looking golf shoe” on the market right now has to make the list, right? It’s probably 70-percent sneaker/ 30-percent golf shoe but the Goatlane Contour just keeps finding its way onto my feet and into my golf bag.

I’m pretty much a sneaker head and golf equipment junkie. I have about 30 pairs of golf shoes from Jordan’s to traditional footjoy premiere. 200+ in my sneaker collection. I’ve come to the realization that most of the sneakers turned golf shoes aren’t that great for golf. The only Jordan’s I have that really work for me to golf in are the 11s. I’ve been really playing better in my footjoy and the latest Payntr. I will say those iversons turned golf shoes look pretty cool. I doubt I’d wear them though. I said all that to say really to each their own. Wear works for you style performance and confidence wise.

Connor-your taste runs from ugly to ugliest. Have been wearing ultra comfortable TRUE Lux Hybrids for several years (which of course MGS never includes in their rankings) . Recently scored a pair of equally comfortable, awesome looking Gfore Gallivan2R TPU Camo soles on sale (about $100 bucks off) at PGA Superstore. Warning–GFour shoes tend to run a bit small and narrow so I suggest 1/2 size up and consider wide rather than medium for more forefoot room.

Every single one of those shoes are beyond ugly.

Those are some ugly golf shoes and look like they would not provide much performance.
