PUMA Revamps PHANTOMCAT NITRO Lineup with New Sport Edition

There’s nothing wrong with a little mid-year line refresh. Today, PUMA released the PHANTOMCAT NITRO Sport, a sleek, sporty refresh of their flagship PHANTOMCAT NITRO golf shoes.

The PHANTOMCAT NITRO Sport shares DNA with the non-sport version, which is a good thing because it had an admirable finish in our Most Wanted golf shoe testing this year. Rather than reinvent the wheel, PUMA took the unique spiked design and retooled the upper with a knit construction.

I’m a big fan of knits, as they’re generally more comfortable and breathable than leather or similar synthetic uppers. The engineered mesh upper on the PHANTOMCAT NITRO Sport is made with recycled materials, features a waterproof membrane and a TPU toe rand overlay for added durability.

Rather than keep you locked in with a normal tongue, the Sport variant features a bootie construction which provides a more one-to-one fit.

Outside of the change to the upper, the shoe stays true to PUMA’s bread and butter with NITRO foam in the heel and their proprietary green-safe FLEXSpike traction pattern.

You can shop the PHANTOMCAT NITRO Sport in five colorways, starting today. Retail is $150.

Would not wear those shoes. As a senior I need more stability

I personally prefer a more stable shoe and easy to clean. Not something I would wear on the golf course. I need a more solid foundation. Have always worn FJ Leather style shoes and never had issues with my feet. FJ DryJoys got me thru plantar fasciitis. Really hated to see that line go. I do love their Premiere line.
