Ram Axial Forged is a surprise standout in this year's player's iron test. No one anticipated it being well received among our testing pool or performing in the manner it did. From the beginning, it showcased distance potential in a category where distance isn't the top priority. Ram Axial Forged places 2nd for distance and offers useable accuracy and forgiveness.
► You prioritize distance: For some better, higher skilled golfers, more distance might be a top priority. Ram Axial Forged is a stud when it comes to distance in our Best Player’s Iron 2024 test.
✖︎ You don’t like a direct to consumer product: Direct to consumer golf clubs are extremely popular nowadays and if our testing proves anything, it is that these golf clubs are as good as the big name OEMs. Yet, we understand golfers might be skeptical of them, so if that is you, stay clear.
Taking into account total distance and carry distance, our distance scoring is a metric ultimately telling you the total yards achieved by the club.

Accuracy evaluates if a player’s shots with each club are above or below what’s expected based on that player’s skill level. By eliminating variables in player ability, accuracy determines how well the club improves a player’s overall score.

Forgiveness measures how well a club corrects for hits that are center or off center off the face of the club. A high forgiveness rating tells you that a club does well at maintaining consistency in performance when your swing fluctuates.

Ball speed measures how fast the ball is traveling off the face of the club. We eliminate variables like player swing speed or ability, so you can compare ball speeds off the face as affected by the club, not the player.

We evaluate the percentage of shots that hit the fairway compared to shots in the rough. This shows the accuracy of a club, with a higher percentage earning a higher accuracy rating.

Good to see the Ram name being attached to real golf clubs again. Providing tour level equipment at a reasonable price was the undoing of the original company. Hopefully with the growing recognition of DTC companies it will work out better this time.
