TaylorMade P-7MC

9.2 overall

The Bottom Line

TaylorMade P7MC is the best player's iron for our 2024 test. In a player's iron, your number one priority should be accuracy and accuracy is TaylorMade P7MC's strongest attribute. It excels across the entire set makeup, especially in the pitching wedge and 7-iron. It isn't the longest iron in this category, which may steer some golfers away. But, be confident knowing that it sacrifices distance for precision.

👍 Buy This If

You prioritize accuracy: For player’s iron testing, we emphasize accuracy. TaylorMade P7MC continues to prove that it is an accurate player’s iron. With a 7-iron and pitching wedge, TaylorMade P7MC out shines the rest of the competition. It was the best iron for accuracy, specifically when we analyze 7-iron and pitching wedge performance.

You want consistency: Most golfers do not correlate forgiveness with a player’s iron. For us, we think of forgiveness as consistency. TaylorMade P7MC is the 2nd best player’s iron for forgiveness in this year’s test. It excels with producing consistent golf ball data shot to shot.

👎 Don’t Buy This If

✖︎ You want distance potential in a player’s iron: In terms of distance potential, TaylorMade P7MC ranks towards the bottom. Distance shouldn’t be your top priority with a player’s iron. However, if it is, you’ll be disappointed with the P7MC’s distance relative to the field.

When you say players irons, are you saying for all of us or mainly 5 to 8 handi or less. Also I am sure you are aware just like I am the the makers to get more distance change the lie of the irons. Mainly better players get what used to be standard lie but for years they have changed the lie to get more distance for the poorer players.

False, depending on the kind of Mizuno iron you have this could be true but something measuring up to the same kind of iron among the likes of the P7MC like the Mizuno Pro has a 7iron loft of 33 degrees while the P7MC has a 7iron loft of 34-degree effectively taking off 5 yards for the average player.
