Throw These Golf Balls Away Immediately!

What I’m about to tell you might make a few of you mad, but if you play a matte golf ball, I’m gonna need you to throw ’em away.

Now, I know some of you’re saying, “Well, wait a minute, that costs me money. Why on earth would I put them in the trash?”

But here’s the deal. They are some of the most inconsistent golf balls. What I can definitely tell you is that a matte golf ball is not right for anybody. But here’s the deal.

When that moisture is introduced, you could be losing nearly 75% of your spin.

And they don’t wipe clean. Like flat paint, once dirty stay dirty, and that also affects performance.

Also, I’d like to play the Bridgestone e12 Contact, but I much prefer yellow balls, and Bridgestone made the Brain Damaged decision to release yellow only in matte, so I pass. I’m sure its cost them sales.

I have played the e12 contact in the matte green or red flavors for a few years now because they are not super expensive, seems to play well for me, and I was able to bulk buy them in large cases rather than buying by the sleev or dozen makeithings simpler and more cost effective. When they’re gone I will likely switch to a urethane option. I love all the bright colors of the matte ball makers but that’s not the deciding factor as my game continues to get better.

Makes sense. Just like old beat up golf balls at the range never fly right. Old beat up range balls always have odd spin, odd trajectories, and odd shot shapes.

Do yourself a favor MGS. Grab your stimp meter or ball rolling device, and roll a matte ball and normal ball on the green. From my own personal testing, they roll SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than a normal ball. As in about 2 feet shorter on a 10 foot putt. The same for low comp balls. The ball you use for putting makes a big difference in the distance it rolls. If you don’t consistently use the same ball in your round of golf, you will struggle with your putting.

I found that out from experience on a green with a significant drop between levels. My matt ball came up over a yard shorter than the regular golf balls. Plus you must deliberately putt the harder. No more matt balls for me. Jerry Neff
